Virtual Volunteer Challenge Week 3: Share the Love
In the spirit of communal support and community building, this week we are challenging you to share the love and be compassionate neighbors, family members, and friends in the face of this health crisis.

We encourage you to be creative with this challenge! No act of kindness is too small to demonstrate our support for the various individuals and organizations that make up our vibrant communities.

  • Some suggestions include:
  • Bake something homemade for a neighbor, friend, or family member
  • Pick-up groceries for isolated individuals
  • Order dinner from a local restaurant and send it to a struggling family, healthcare professional, or shelter
  • Chalk positive messages around your neighborhood
  • Share positive news on social media
  • Post signs thanking essential workers in your yard
  • Foster a shelter animal

Please log your service hours for this challenge in CTSA under the program name " Virtual Volunteer Challenge: Share the Love ".

Community Partner Opportunities
Meals on Wheels Temporary Jobs & Volunteers Needed
Meals on Wheels Drivers deliver nutritious meals to homebound seniors Monday - Friday. The Meals on Wheels Program is one of many programs Minuteman Senior Services offers to support seniors who want to age independently within their own homes and communities.

As a Meals on Wheels Driver, you will do much more than deliver a meal -- you will provide a friendly contact that will brighten the lives of homebound seniors. Drivers serve as our eyes and ears, often reporting health and well-being concerns before they become a crisis.
You will see many smiling, grateful faces among the seniors on your route.

Apply here or email Harriet Goldstein for more information.
Apply to the Massachusetts Promise Fellowship
The Massachusetts Promise Fellowship (MPF) is an AmeriCorps program dedicated to increasing youth academic enrichment and college and career exploration through Out-of-School-Time (OST) interventions and data-driven programming. As a Mass Promise Fellow, participants serve at one of our partner youth-serving programs at schools, city agencies, or community-based organizations in Massachusetts.

Fellows will work to decrease the dropout rate, close the opportunity gap, and support the futures of youth. If someone believes in the power of relationship building to positively impact the life of a young person, this role is for them.MPF's training curriculum, networking opportunities, and career coaching provide our Fellows with the opportunity to increase their leadership development and gain meaningful skills needed for careers in the education and non-profit sectors.

For more information and to apply, visit the Mass Promise Fellowship website .
Apply to the Millennium Fellowship
The Fellowship is a semester-long leadership development program on your campus to take your social impact to the next level. Access to world class training, connections, and recognition is just an application away.

Early applications encouraged. Next priority application deadline for the Class of 2020 is March 31. Final deadline to apply is April 30. With questions, contact Oona Wood .
Volunteer with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) is looking for student volunteers, with experience in public health, to assist local and state health departments with the COVID-19 response. Students may volunteer as much or as little as they can, but all applicants will be required to complete some training as part of this effort. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out this survey.

Those who apply may receive an email from MDPH containing two online trainings that must be completed prior to being matched as a volunteer. Due to the overwhelming response that they have received, MPDH will be making volunteer matches on an as-needed basis.

Please direct any questions regarding this opportunity to Cindy Thomas.
