Brandeis Community Opportunities
Apply to be a PAID Community Engagement Ambassador in DCS
As part of a prestigious leadership cohort, four selected Community Engagement Ambassadors will work with Department of Community Service staff to build the capacity of all Brandeis community service clubs and will receive $12.75 per hour ($2,000 for the academic year). Ambassadors will be challenged to think creatively about ways to engage Brandeis students from all backgrounds in community service initiatives, to engage in strategic planning that supports community engagement, and to learn new leadership skills, including project management systems and tools that increase effectiveness in groups. Learn more by attending an information session and visiting our  website here . The application deadline is  Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 11:59pm . Questions? BEMCo Community CPR Courses
Multiple semester dates beginning Saturday, January 25, 2020, 12:00p.m.-5:00p.m .

BEMCo Heartsaver CPR, AED, and First Aid Classes. A class runs for five hours, and upon completion, students receive an eBook, certificate, and ECSI CPR card. Undergraduates (second year and above) also receive credit for one semester of PE, and first year students will receive credit for one Health and Wellness class.

Join the English Language Learning Initiative!
The English Language Learning Initiative (ELLi) is a service club here at Brandeis where students are paired with staff (who work at Sodexo or in custodial services) to tutor them in English as their second language. No tutoring or foreign language experience is necessary, it is low time commitment, based on your schedule, and is a great way to get involved on campus and give back directly to the community!

Interested in becoming a peer educator? The BTW: Bridge to Wellness application is now live on the student employment website. Help educate and empower students to prioritize well-being and practice healthy decision making. The deadline to apply is February 15th. Please reach out to  [email protected]  with any questions.

Info Session and Training for Volunteer Housing Court Advocates

Apply for Senior Week Volunteer
Volunteers will be a crucial part of the Senior Week experience by assisting us in throwing fun events throughout the week and ensuring a great send off for the seniors. Volunteers will also assist with running events, ticket sales and ushering at Commencement 2020, not to mention being able to spend one last week with the Class of 2020. All underclassmen are welcome to apply.

Afternoon Enrichment is a Waltham Group program works with the local middle schools every Thursday 3-5 pm. It is a great opportunity to get experience working with kids, as every program involves a group activity, followed by one-on-one tutoring. Only two weeks left before our first program! Eastern Trek for Cancer

Waltham Against Dementia
Applications due by Thursday, February 20, 2020
Waltham Against Dementia is looking for volunteers to work at Leland Nursing Home! This project will work directly with residents at Leland Nursing Home to observe care, and implement engaging and sustainable activities! Volunteers will learn more about Dementia care practice and nursing home care. People of all ages and experiences are welcome to apply using this link. Applications are due February 20th and will be evaluated on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

We are also looking to collect used iPods or music devices to be used by Leland residents.

Volunteer with the Brandeis Food Pantry
The Brandeis Food Pantry is seeking student volunteers to assist with our activities, 4 hours commitment in a month is typically required. We provide free, on-campus access to healthy food options and other non-perishable items, volunteers are crucial to our operations. Branvan certification/US driver’s license is a plus but not required, as volunteers sometimes support with donation and food pick-ups at the Greater Boston Food Bank and other locations locally.
