Ocean Pines Mixed Bowling League is Looking for Bowlers

The Ocean Pines Mixed Bowling League is looking to fill a couple openings in the current season. We have two openings on Monday and one opening on Tuesday.

This year there are 24 teams divided between Monday and Tuesday. The games start at 1 p.m. It is a mixed league with four people on each team. Cost is $18 a week.

Pine'eer Artisan Gift Shop

The Pine’eer Artisan Craft and Gift Shop is always seeking new crafters. If you are an artisan who would like to join, contact Sharon or email opcraftclub@aol.com for more information. All new crafters must go through the juried process, and when items sell, profits return to the community. Crafters must work in the shop—it is run solely by volunteers. Since its inception, the craft club has donated $175,000 back to Ocean Pines and has been handcrafting in the community for more than 40 years. The gift shop is open Saturdays 8 a.m.-3 p.m. and Sundays 10 a.m.-3 p.m. year round.


Community Church at Ocean Pines Shepherd's Nook, Angels' Attic, and Sarah's Pantry

The Shepherd's Nook and the newly named Angels' Attic (formerly the Flea Market), thrift stores at the Community Church at Ocean Pines, offer gently used (and some new) clothing and household goods at greatly reduced prices. Funds raised are used for the missions of the church. The schedule for the Shepherd's Nook and the Angels' Attic is Tuesday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The church also supplies food to the community through Sarah's Pantry. Ocean Pines Anglers Club Asking for Catch Data

Members of the Ocean Pines Anglers Club are asking local anglers to log and submit their catch data, to help improve statistics that govern recreational fishing. To view the form, visit https://fishinoc.com/fish-data.


Additionally, The Ocean Pines Anglers Club will meet on Saturday, February 17 at 9:30 a.m in the Ocean Pines Library. Guest speaker will be Fred Stiehl from the U.S. Power Squadron. Women's Club of Ocean Pines seeks members

The Women’s Club of Ocean Pines invites all women who reside in Ocean Pines to join their organization. New membership year begins September 2023. The purpose of their organization is to promote civic and social activities which includes educational and community outreach opportunities for its members. Bethany United Methodist Church Bible Study

Lenten Bible Study, six-week class on The Third Day by Tom Berlin, Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m. from Feb. 14 to March 20 at Bethany United Methodist Church, 8648 Stephen Decatur Hwy, Berlin, MD. First Wednesday of Every Month: AGH Diabetes Support Group / 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Atlantic General Hospital will hold a diabetes support group the first Wednesday of every month at the Ocean Pines library, September through June. There is no cost to participate. For more information, call 410-208-9761.


Second Thursday of Every Month: Marine Corps League Peacekeepers Detachment 1492 / 11 a.m.

The new Peacekeepers Detachment 1492 meets monthly at the South Fire Station on 911 Ocean Parkway. The group supports organizations such as Tunnel to Towers Foundation and Toys for Toys, and offers social events such as luncheons, dinners, movie nights, sporting events and more. Marines, veterans, first responders and patriotic Americans are invited to participate. Second and Fourth Thursday of Every Month: MAC Alzheimer's/Related Dementia Caregivers Support Group / 3-4:30 p.m.

Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays: Ocean Pines Line Dancing

Line dancing has returned to the Ocean Pines Community Center gym. Beginner classes are offered on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30-10:30 a.m.; beginner/intermediate classes are held Fridays from 9:30-11 a.m. All are invited, and no experience is needed - just bring comfortable shoes and a smile. Mondays: Delmarva Chorus / 6-8 p.m.

The Delmarva Chorus, a chapter under the Sweet Adelines International and under the direction of Carol Ludwig, practices every Monday at the Ocean Pines Community Center from 6 to 8 p.m. The Chorus accepts all women who love to sing, laugh and make new friends. Members entertain at civic events, charitable functions and participate in many other activities such as ways-and-means projects and social events. Other activities include Memorial/Veterans Day performances at the Worcester County Veterans Memorial at Ocean Pines, an annual American Legion convention performance in July, and the Delmarva Chorus annual fundraiser event. Mondays, Tuesdays: Ocean Pines Bowling League/ 1 p.m.

The Ocean Pines Mixed Bowling League has been in existence for over 25 years. It's a great way to meet new friends and have fun at the same time. It spans over Monday and Tuesday at the Ocean City Lanes. If you are interested in joining, please contact Barbara Harman on 301-980-7798.


Tuesdays: Beach Heroes Trash and Litter Clean Up / 9-10 a.m.

This volunteer group is dedicated to cleaning up Ocean City. Events are kid-friendly. Trash bags, gloves and loaner grippers are provided. Join the group on Facebook at Beach Heroes-OC for future times, dates and locations. All are welcome. Donations of 13-gallon biodegradable trash bags and grippers are gladly accepted.


Tuesdays: Sanctioned Bridge / 10 a.m.

Tuesdays: Families Anonymous / 7-8:30 p.m.

This group is a fellowship of people whose lives have been affected by the use of mind-altering substances or related behavior problems of a relative or friend. Any concerned person (even if there is only a suspicion of a problem) is encouraged to attend meetings, held at the Community Church at Ocean Pines Family Life Center (room 37) on 11227 Racetrack Road. Wednesdays: Pines Steppers Square Dance Club / 7-8:30 p.m.

Dance lessons are held each week in the Assateague Room of the Ocean Pines Community Center. Instructors promise a welcoming environment for all skill levels. Starting March 6, the first four lessons are free. Following that, participants can continue with a 12-week course for $4 per person, per session. Couples and singles are welcome. Wednesdays: Kiwanis Club / 8 a.m.

EVERY WEDNESDAY, Kiwanis Club meets in the Ocean Pines Community Center on 235 Ocean Parkway. Doors open at 7:30 a.m.; the meeting begins at 8 a.m. Third Wednesdays meetings are offsite and will be updated monthly. Guests are encouraged to visit and learn about what the club is and does. February 8: Ocean Pines Garden Club Meeting/ 10 a.m.

The Ocean Pines Garden Club's next meeting will be held at the Ocean Pines Community Center on Thursday, Feb. 8, at 10 a.m. Guest speaker will be Ginny Rosenkranz, UMD Extension Agent, with a presentation entitled, "Let's Talk Trees and Shrubs." Visitors and new members are welcome! For more information contact Ann Shockley at 410-688-1975.


February 10: Love Letters (a play) at the Community Center/ 7:30 p.m.

Ocean Pines Players (OPP) will produce a heartfelt play just in time for Valentine’s Day. On Saturday, Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m., OPP will present the play, “Love Letters” by A. R. Gurney at the Ocean Pines Community Center. This play stars the married couple, Ed Guinan and Monica Guinan as star-crossed lifelong complicated friends. The event features “cabaret-style” seating with wine and charcuterie included in the ticket price of $25. February 22: RWWC Feb. General Meeting & Luncheon/ 10:30 a.m.

The Republican Women of Worcester County’s Feb. General Meeting and Luncheon will be held on Thursday, Feb. 22 at the Ocean City Golf Club, 11411 Country Club Drive, Berlin, MD. Guest speakers will be Lauren Cooper, Director of the Cricket Center and Kayla Figueroa, Director of Worcester Connects, Worcester Youth and Family Counseling. Both organizations focus on assisting at-risk youth. The Cricket Center assists children who are victims of abuse and Worcester Connects works with youth who need mentors.

They are asking members to bring items to the meeting that would be useful to both organizations in their after school activities such as snack items, activity books, etc. These donations are part of RWWC’s “Caring for America” program. Doors open at 10:30 am and the meeting will begin at 11:00 am. Cost of the luncheon is $35.00 per person. March 2: Kiwanis Club Early St. Patrick's Day Pancake Breakfast / 8 a.m. - 11 a.m.

Indulge in an early St. Patrick's Day pancake breakfast, Saturday, Mar. 2, at the Ocean Pines Community Center at 235 Ocean Parkway while the Kiwanis Club of Ocean Pines helps supports the Ocean Pines Volunteer Fire Department (OPVFD). Tickets are available from your local Kiwanian neighbor/friend for $9/ticket; children under 10 eat for free. Pay at the door cash, check, or credit card. Take out available. March 21: Republican Women of Worcester County Card and Game Party/ TBA

The Republican Women of Worcester County are hosting a "Card and Game Party" on Thursday, Mar. 21 at the Bayside Skillet on 77th Street, Ocean City.
