Quilters by the Sea meets weekly at the Ocean Pines Community Center. The first Wednesday of every month is Volunteer Day from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., the second and fourth Wednesdays are UFO Day or a workshop from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and the third Wednesday is a business meeting from 12-3 p.m.

January 9 - Hot Stove Plus a Night of Orioles & Ravens Sports Talk / 6-9 p.m.
Held at Nick's House of Ribs, 14410 Coastal Highway to benefit Believe in Tomorrow Children's Foundation. Featured guests include Tom Davis, host of Wall-to-Wall Baseball & Ravens Talk, and Al Bumbry, American League Rookie of the Year '73 and first Oriole with 200 hits in a season. Dinner includes choice of entree (chicken, ribs or salmon), desserts, coffee and non-alcoholic beverages. Cash bar, sports silent auction, mystery boxes, 50/50 and more. $35 donation per person. January 11 - Ocean Pines Angler Club / 9:30 a.m.
This month's meeting, held at the Ocean Pines library, will feature a look back at the club's youth programs in 2019. Buddy Siegel and Jack Barnes will discuss the Teach-a-Kid-to-Fish, youth fishing contest and Believe in Tomorrow programs. Also, fishing regulations for 2020 will be reviewed. All are welcome.
January 16 - Pine'eer Craft Club
This month's meeting at the Ocean Pines Community Center will feature a craft project (to be announced). Refreshments will be served at 9:45 a.m.; the business meeting will begin at 10 a.m. All are welcomed to join the club for fun and friendship.
January 17 - Ocean Pines Golf Happy Hour & Pizza Party / 5:15-8:15 p.m.
Hosted by the Ocean Pines Golf Members' Council, the Ocean Pines Ladies' Golf Association and the Ocean Pines Men's Golf Association at the Ocean Pines Community Center for the enjoyment of all golf members and friends of the golf course. January 17 & 18 - Ocean Pines Children's Theater "Legally Blonde the Musical, Jr."
This is the story of Elle Woods, who ventures into her epic quest of self discovery and, when life throws her a curve ball, fights her way to the top. Directed and choreographed by Paulette DeRosa-Matrona and featuring children ages 12 and up from all over Worcester County. Performances will be held at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center in Ocean City. The Jan. 17 show will begin at 7 p.m.; the Jan. 18 show will begin at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 each and may be purchased at the OC Convention Center Ticket Office at 800-OC-OCEAN or in person during regular business hours. Tickets may also be purchased online at ticketmaster.com.
January 20 - Democratic Women's Club of Worcester County
The next meeting of the Democratic Women's Club of Worcester County will be held at the Ocean Pines Community Center. Coffee and conversation will be held at 9:30 a.m.; the meeting will begin at 10 a.m.
January 23 - Republic Women of Worcester County
The January luncheon and general meeting will be held at the Captain's Table Restaurant and Bar, located at 15th and Baltimore Avenue in Ocean City in the Courtyard by Marriott. The doors will open at 10:30 am.; the business meeting will begin at 11 a.m. The guest speakers will be Pat Schrawder, representing Senator Mary Beth Carozza, and Worcester County Commissioner Chip Bertino. They will discuss Maryland 2020 legislative issues as well as Worcester County issues. The cost of the luncheon is $20 per person.
