Recent News
Assessment Due Date Moved to Aug. 1
The assessment due date has been extended to Aug. 1, based on a recent vote by the Ocean Pines Board of Directors. Paying the assessment on or before Aug. 1 will prevent members from incurring late charges, but can affect their ability to vote in the 2020 Board of Directors election. Read more.
Highlights from the May 2 OPA Board Meeting

Board Actions During May 2 Meeting

Road Painting to Cause Closures in The Parke Community
Weather permitting, the painting of the red stamped asphalt in The Parke community will begin on Tuesday, May 5. The closure of select roads, lots and walkways will be included in the project. Read more.
'Flooding Awareness Live' Virtual Event Scheduled
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the flooding awareness and outreach event scheduled on May 12 from 5:30-7 p.m. has been postponed until the fall. To provide residents with information about flooding ahead of the hurricane season, organizers have scheduled a live, online-only event on May 12 from 5-6 p.m. Read more.
Ocean Pines Summer Camp Registration to Open Soon
The Ocean Pines Recreation and Parks Department has announced that registration packets for Camp Ocean Pines should be available this week. Updates about the opening of camp registration will be posted to the department's Facebook page and web page at oceanpines.org.
Golf Club Offers Guidance on Cart Path Usage
Area residents who have been taking advantage of the opportunity to walk, jog and ride their bikes at Ocean Pines Golf Club during its temporary closure are reminded to obey some simple guidelines as they utilize the cart path. Read more.

Census Participation to Help Determine Funding Levels Through 2030
Local officials continue to encourage participation in the 2020 Census, which will help determine federal funding levels for the next decade.   Read more.
Gov. Hogan Directs MD Dept. of Health to Release Nursing Home Data on COVID-19
Gov. Larry Hogan has directed the Maryland Department of Health to take the necessary steps to publish data related to COVID-19 cases and fatalities associated with nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other facilities providing congregate living for residents.   Read more.
Ocean City Following State's 'Roadmap to Recovery'
Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan amended two mayoral declarations combating the spread of COVID-19, in order to mirror the State of Maryland’s recovery plan. The declaration extends emergency orders enacted in March, including closure of the beach, Boardwalk and Inlet Parking Lot until May 15.  Read more.

AGH treating COVID-19 Patients with Plasma from Coronavirus Survivors
Atlantic General Hospital has announced that through the Blood Bank of Delmarva, AGH is participating in a Mayo Clinic study to provide convalescent plasma to treat patients with COVID-19. Read more.

The Ocean Pines Elections Committee is reminding homeowners of the May 10 candidate registration deadline for the 2020 Board of Directors election. This year, two seats are available in the Board election, with the two highest vote-getters each earning a three-year term. Read more.

Upcoming Events/Meetings

Until Further Notice - Shepherd's Nook & Flea Market Closed
The Shepherd's Nook and Flea Market at the Community Church at Ocean Pines is closed until further notice. Clothing and household donations cannot be accepted and processed during this time. The public is asked to hold donations until the store reopens. When it does, it will be stocked with spring and summer clothing. Sarah's Pantry will remain open for clients, who must call ahead for pick-ups.
