UPDATED: Two campaigns fulfilled, but donations still needed for holiday giving
As part of its expanded holiday gift-giving outreach this year, Ocean Pines staff are seeking specific donations to help brighten the holidays for two local families, as well as donations of nonperishable food and pet supplies, and new toys, clothing and blankets. Read more.
Virtual tree lighting video now online; Public can tour holiday display each night

Yacht Club feeds nearly 1,300 on Thanksgiving
The Ocean Pines Yacht Club, over a five-hour period on Thanksgiving Day, sent 1,280 meals to local people through delivery and carryout. The day easily set the restaurant's record for to-go meals.  Read more.

Shepherd's Nook & Flea Market Open
The Shepherd's Nook and Flea Market at the Community Church at Ocean Pines and Sarah's Pantry are open. All facilities require that masks be worn inside. The Nook will be restricted to 8 customers entering at a time and the flea market will be limited to 5 customers at a time. The direct phone number for the Nook and Sarah's Pantry is 410-641-8392. Hours of operation are Wednesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Ocean Pines Anglers Club Asking for Catch Data
Members of the Ocean Pines Anglers Club are asking local anglers to log and submit their catch data, to help improve statistics that govern recreational fishing. To view the form, visit https://fishinoc.com/fish-data.

Ocean Pines Garden Club Meetings
The Ocean Pines Garden Club has been holding Zoom meetings and planning activities while keeping COVID-19 safety measures in mind. The club also has a multi-page newsletter that goes out to members each month. The "Bloomin' News" is full of garden hints, local information and links to outside environmental and gardening sources. Wednesdays through Dec. 23: Kiwanis Food Collection / 9 a.m.-noon
The Kiwanis Club of Greater Ocean Pines-Ocean City will collect donations of non-perishable food items for Diakonia.

Fridays in December, Saturdays and Sundays Year-Round: Pine'eer Artisan Gift Shop
The Pine'eer Artisan Gift Shop will be open for holiday shopping Friday evenings in December from 4:30-7:30 p.m. The shop is also open Saturdays 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and Sundays 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. Masks are required, and both cash and credit card payments are currently accepted. The shop is located in White Horse Park next to the Ocean Pines Administration Building.

Saturdays in December: Kiwanis Fundraiser Lanterns / 9 a.m.-noon
The Kiwanis Club of Greater Ocean Pines-Ocean City will be selling lanterns at the Ocean Pines Farmers and Artisans Market in White Horse Park. Large lanterns sell for $40 and are battery operated with a remote to change the lighting patterns. Two versions are available: "Peace on Earth" with a red bow and tree on the front and "Fall" with a brown bow and leaves on the front. Inserts can be purchased to change the messages to suit the season. A smaller solar lantern is available for $30. Proceeds benefit Worcester G.O.L.D., which distributes prenatal to age 4 pantry items in line with the Kiwanis "Priority One" program. Lanterns will be available next to the Kiwanis Lottery Raffle sales table at the market. Lanterns may also be ordered by calling Jim Spicknall at 301-580-0377.

Dec. 3: Women's Club of Ocean Pines Monthly Meeting Via Zoom / 10-11 a.m.
The topic of this month's meeting will be "Stories Love Music" by Ilyana Kadushin. Stories Love Music is a creative engagement program for elders with memory loss and their caregivers that blends music and storytelling, sparking the imagination to bring them more fully into the present moment. The Jan. 7 meeting topic will be "Enjoying Healthy Eating," presented by Amy Gehrig, RD LDN, from the Atlantic General Bariatric Center. Club members will receive an email invitation to access the Zoom meetings. Downloading the Zoom app is recommended. The Women’s Club membership year began in September and is ongoing. Dues are $10 per year. Dec. 3: Mid-Atlantic Symphony Holiday Joy Performance / 7 p.m.
The performance will be held at the Church of God in Easton, Maryland, and will feature a selection of holiday music performed by the the orchestra's strings and guest soloists. Tickets to attend the performance as a member of the live, socially-distanced audience of up to 150 individuals are $45, while supplies last. Dec. 12: Believe in Santa Breakfast
All proceeds benefit Believe in Tomorrow Children's Foundation. Seating times are 9-9:30 a.m., 10-10:30 a.m., 11-11:30 a.m. and 12-12:30 p.m. in the lobby area at 61st Street Bayside (33 Seabay Lane) in Ocean City. Attendees are asked to remain in their vehicles until seating time. $18 per person for ages over 10, $10 for ages 10 and under. Ages under 3 are free. Prices include hot breakfast provided by Residence Inn Marriott and a free new stuffed animal. Children's crafts and activities, photos with Santa, baked goods and raffles. Masks required. Limited and reserved seating only - no more than 6 people at a table. Advance ticket sales only. Through Dec. 31: Coastal Hospice Angel Appeal Campaign
Proceeds benefit Coastal Hospice programs. Angel ornaments, personalized with the name of someone a donor wants to honor or memorialize, are hung on eight Coastal Hospice Christmas trees displayed across the region. Contributions can be made at www.coastalhospice.org/angel or by texting "ANGEL" to 345-345. Please include the name of the "angel" so that Costal Hospice can write it on the ornament. Please note who Coastal Hospice should notify of the donation, including name and address. The amount of the donation will not be disclosed. Call 410-742-8732 for more information.

Through Dec. 31: Kiwanis Lottery Raffle Ticket Sales
Purchase tickets now through Dec. 31 for drawings to be held every evening in 2021. Tickets are $20 each and are valid for 365 drawings. Payouts are $20 per evening, except for special dates when winnings are $50-$250. All proceeds benefit local scholarships and youth programs. Tickets may be purchased from any Kiwanis member, or at the Ocean Pines Farmers and Artisans Market, held Saturdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in White Horse Park. Proceeds benefit scholarships and community donations. Only 100 tickets to be sold; 10 chances to win. A $50 cash first prize and $25 cash second prize drawing will he held on Jan. 7, Feb. 4, March 4 and April 1. Winning tickets will also be put back for the the next drawing on May 6, which will consist of a $200 cash grand prize and $100 cash second prize.
