Community Standards Department

Why You May See Community Standards Inspectors in Your Neighborhood:

If you are a new homeowner in the Village, or if you’re unfamiliar with the Architectural and Environmental Guidelines that our Community Standards Inspectors follow, we encourage you to review them ahead of time. Being familiar with the Guidelines is a great way to stay informed.

Please Properly Clean Up Your Yard Debris

Please do not blow or rake leaves or other yard debris into the streets or common areas. This debris can clog storm drain openings and lead to potential flooding.

Please dispose of yard debris properly by mulching leaves or collecting them in paper yard waste bags for pickup on Mondays.

Thank you for helping keep our community clean and preventing drainage issues!

AVCA Board Meeting Summary – October 27, 2026

The Ashburn Village Board of Directors held their monthly meeting on October 27, 2026. The Board opened the meeting with association legal counsel to review the legal and governance responsibilities of board service. Following this session, the Board transitioned to regular business to review community updates, receive committee reports, and vote on key association initiatives.

Highlights and actions taken include:

  • Election of Officers & Committee Liaisons: Elected Jason Mello as President, Avirat Kanhere as Vice President, Ben Long as Treasurer, and Jen Snyder as Secretary. The Board also appointed liaisons to all community committees.

  • 2027 Annual Operating Budget: Approved the 2027 Annual Operating Budget, which incorporates an additional $50,000 contribution to the capital improvement fund to proactively repair and modernize 40-year-old facilities.

  • Tennis Bubble Replacement: Authorized management to solicit professional engineering proposals to obtain design and cost estimates for expansion options (Options 2 and 3) for the seasonal tennis bubble.

  • Steam Room & Cold Therapy Upgrades: Approved the status quo equipment replacement of the non-functioning steam room and authorized management to design an upstairs nook for dedicated cold lounge beds as a premium add-on.

  • Snow Removal Equipment: Approved proposals to equip maintenance trucks and Bobcat machines with commercial V-plows (totaling $21,761 from repair/replacement reserves) to enhance snow clearing efficiency on narrow streets and during icy events.

  • Facility Rentals & Community Events: Approved a revised rental contract for all Recreation Center facilities, establishing a flat rate for the first 4 hours, followed by an hourly rate for each additional hour. The Board also approved a free rental for a local Cub Scout pack and a free winter native seed sowing workshop hosted by the non-profit Wild Ones.

  • Contracts & Janitorial Services: Approved the extension of the FirstService Residential financial management agreement at a reduced rate and directed management to obtain additional competitive bids on janitorial services for review at the December meeting.

  • Covenants & Hearing Resolutions: Reviewed Executive Session matters, approving the annotated neighborhood violation hearing package and upholding the denial of a homeowner fee appeal.

Residents are always welcome and encouraged to attend monthly Board meetings. The next meeting will be held on December 1, 2026. Agendas, meeting links, and community updates are available at www.ashburnvillage.org.

Happy 40th Anniversary Ashburn Village

1987 - 2027

In September, the 40th Anniversary Commission held its first meeting, bringing together an enthusiastic team of resident volunteers to start planning Ashburn Village's landmark 2027 milestone.

Since our founding in 1987, Ashburn Village has grown into a vibrant place to live, learn, and play. The Commission's goal is to create meaningful experiences, foster community connection, and celebrate our shared history over the past four decades. Because our history is truly built by our residents, we want to hear from you!

Whether you are an original homeowner, a new family just settling in, or a longtime volunteer with a great story to tell, we invite you to share your memories and historic photos. Your contributions will help bring nostalgia, fun, and joy to our upcoming anniversary celebrations—and may even be featured in future issues of The Villager!

Share Your Story: Click the button below to complete our quick community submission form. Help us celebrate the history, people, and memories that make Ashburn Village the place we love to call home.

Ashburn Lake Forebay Retrofit Project

Work in Progress!

Project Information

Loudoun County is currently conducting a water quality improvement project at Ashburn Lake to ensure the lake continues to meet required environmental standards. The project may involve periodic equipment, brief access limitations, or visible work along the shoreline as improvements move forward.

Learn what the project entails here or read more on the Loudoun County Project Page.

Questions or Feedback?

Please submit any questions or comments regarding this project using the Ashburn Lake Forebay Retrofit Project Comment Form, available on the Loudoun County website.

🚧 Trail & Construction Area Reminder

As work continues on the lake and dam improvement project, the affected trail and construction areas remain closed to the public.

We have fencing, barricades, and signage in place to help keep everyone safe. We kindly ask everyone to please stay outside the fenced areas and respect the posted closures by not bypassing, moving, or climbing over any fencing or barricades.

Construction areas can have hazards that aren't always easy to see, so while the work is underway, we invite you to enjoy the trails and other open areas of Ashburn Village.

We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation as this important project moves forward. Thank you for helping us look out for our neighbors, families, and project crews and keeping our community safe!
