Projects completed this week by the Facilities and Grounds crew included:
- Installed new bubbler motors at Tippecanoe lake
- Installed new GFI outlet for Tippecanoe bubblers
- Removed bee nest at AVB/Bruceton Mills
- Repaired sports court gate
- Watered flowers and trees
- Moved bleachers and cones for all stars swim meet
- Replaced 2 thirteen foot light poles
- Trimmed bushes around multiple power boxes
- Removed branch behind Mossy Brook
- Moved fridge at lakes rec center
- BK Electric repaired lights on AVB
- Repaired wall in pavilion kid zone
- Repaired outlet on lakes rec balcony
- Repainted DO NOT ENTER at lakes rec circle
- Installed new scorecards at lakes rec and pavilion tennis courts

Staff does not enter fenced yards or access decks during these reviews, except if a Resale Certificate Package is requested. LAKES POOL OPENING LATE
TOMORROW, JULY 26TH
Ashburn Village is proud to host the Colonial Swim League’s All Stars Swim Meet at the Lakes Pool on Saturday, July 26th from 6 AM–1 PM. Due to this event the Lakes pool and parking lot will be opening late at 2 PM.
Please anticipate increased traffic, and note that overflow parking may occur on nearby streets. We’ve kindly asked all participants to be respectful of the neighborhood and our residents.
Thank you for your patience and support as we welcome swimmers from across the region. Come out and cheer on Ashburn Village's Aqua Jets - Go Jets!

Highlights from the July Board Meeting
The Board of Directors met on July 22 to review community operations, hear committee updates, and take action on a range of topics. Below is a summary of key items discussed and decisions made:
- Approved minutes of meetings on May 27 and June 24
- Requested that management obtain another proposal for swale drainage work
- Requested management to periodically monitor for compliance and review/update signage at Mills Pickleball courts
- Requested Aquatics Committee provide a recommendation on allowing swim meets to start at 8:00 AM on weekends and on music during swim meets
- Tabled discussion on the future of Villagefest to the September meeting
- Approved keeping outdoor pools (Lakes, Woods, Mills) open on weekends through September 21
- Approved use of Potomac Tree for hazardous tree removal
- Approved tree planting plan; requested installation size and expected mature size be specified
- Approved committee appointments
- Scheduled 2026 Budget Review Meeting for September 10 at 6:00 PM
- Scheduled Board Training for November 6 at 6:00 PM
- Agreed to move forward with Good Neighbor Committee; requested legal and insurance review of the charter
- Approved two home-based business applications
- Approved proposal to replace the fountain at Pavilion Lake
- Approved proposal to stock lakes with carp in the fall
- Approved request from a sub-association to rent the Lakes Recreation Center
- Authorized Association president to reach settlement in upcoming mediation with Waltonwood
- Agreed to a counteroffer on right-of-way for Farmwell Road modifications
- Approved signage modifications for locker rooms at Sports Pavilion and restrooms at Recreation Center
- Agreed to pursue firms to assist with a capital improvement master plan

📢 Call for Candidates
Nomination Deadline is

The deadline is quickly approaching for nominations for the three available openings on the Ashburn Village Community Association Board of Directors. Board candidate petitions must be received at the association office by 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 5th.
Directors are expected to volunteer 5 - 10 hours per month supporting the Ashburn Village Community Association. This volunteer opportunity involves attending Board meetings, serving as a liaison to a committee, and providing support to the Board of Director’s responsibilities for AVCA.
Board candidate petitions are now available online and in the August edition of The Villager Magazine, featured on pages 10 and 11. Copies of the magazine have been delivered to every household.
We encourage all interested residents to review the information and consider participating in this important community opportunity.

Now Open Until September 21st!

📢 Exciting News Residents! We're thrilled to announce that the Lakes, Mills, and Woods outdoor pools will remain open on WEEKENDS ONLY, 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM, throughout September, until Sunday, Spetember 21st!
Originally scheduled to close on Labor Day, Monday, September 1st, our Board of Directors has extended the pool season in response to your feedback!
Starting Tuesday, September 2nd, the outdoor pools will be closed on weekdays as the school year begins!
