Safety Reminder:

Please Stay Off the Frozen Lakes

For everyone’s safety, we ask all Ashburn Village residents to avoid walking, skating, or playing on the frozen lakes. While they may look solid, they are dangerous because:

Ice thickness is unpredictable and may not support weight.
Temperature changes cause weak spots that are hard to see.
Snow cover can hide cracks or thin ice.
Falling through ice can lead to hypothermia and drowning within minutes.
Rescue efforts put others at risk as well.

Parents, please take a moment to remind your children about the importance of staying off the lakes. In past winters, concerned residents have contacted the HOA after seeing teens venture onto the ice. We want to prevent accidents and keep everyone safe.

Ashburn Village Residents, we’re excited to introduce our new Community Spotlight feature! Read more below to learn what the Community Spotlight feature includes and how you can participate.

⭐ Who’s eligible? Ashburn Village residents and businesses in good standing.

⭐ If you have a good story to share—whether you’re a volunteer, a long‑time resident or business, a new homeowner, someone with interesting hobbies, or someone who has made a positive impact in the community—we’d love to feature you.

Important Considerations to Note:

The Villager works two months in advance.

Nominees must be submitted by the 5th of each month to be considered for the month after next Ashburn Villager. (The nominees submitted by February 5th will be considered for the April Villager.

This feature will debut in the March 2026 issue of The Villager. Due to production timelines, the March spotlight has already been selected from a resident nomination.

Nominees will be selected randomly from the list of qualified candidates generated by submissions. Those not selected will be waitlisted as an option for future articles.
