Weekly Toolbox Talk

"Is This An Inspection?"

There are only about two weeks left in OSHA’s citation year, and inspections have been picking up across Vermont.

If someone shows up on your jobsite, one of the first things you need to know is why they’re there. Is this an inspection? What kind? What’s the scope? Asking those questions is important and so is knowing who on your team is responsible for handling the visit.

In this week’s Toolbox Talk, Ben and Wobby run through six things contractors can do now to get ready, with one goal in mind: fix it before it becomes a citation.

Download the Inspection Checklist, review it with the people who would handle an inspection, and keep a copy in your Inspection Day Kit. It gives you the steps to follow from the moment the inspector arrives through the closing conference.

From the Jobsite in Washington DC:

Should Contractors Be Worried About OSHA/VOSHA Compliance?

In this week's Searching for the Shovel, we're tackling questions AGC/VT members have been asking about OSHA and VOSHA compliance.

A toolbox talk sign-in proves somebody signed a sheet. What does it prove about your training?

If VOSHA shows up, who takes the lead? What should you document? On a job with several subcontractors, where does your responsibility end?

This week, we're getting into what compliance looks like on the jobsite.

Black, White, & Dusty Golf Tournament

Thanks to everyone who joined us for the annual Black, White & Dusty Golf Tournament at Crown Point Country Club in Springfield.

The weather was once again on our side, and we had a great group out on the course. Black, White & Dusty has become one of those days we look forward to every year, with plenty of familiar faces, some friendly competition, and a good excuse to spend a September day together outside of work.

Thanks to everyone who played, sponsored, and helped make the day happen.
