CHURCH'S PATH CLEARED TO SELL EX-COVENT
"Saints Aedan & Brendan Church is one step closer to selling a former convent building on McKinley Avenue, after winning zoning relief for the church's Westville campus. The building's future use remains uncertain. Those approvals came during Tuesday night's regular monthly Board of Zoning Appeals meeting, which was held online via Zoom. The zoning commissioners unanimously granted the church three separate variances for its five-building, 2.23-acre campus at 112 Fountain St..." SCSU ARTISTS GET OUT THE VOTE
October 12, 2020, The Arts Paper, by Arturo Pineda- "Wiley Carr carefully aligned the printing screen with the owl poster below. The words "VOTE 2020" had been outlined with a yellow adhesive. A bright red paint flooded the top of the screen, quickly pushed to the corners with an old paint-stained squeegee. After a minute of drying, the freshly printed poster was ready to hang On Friday, students and faculty members gathered in front of Earl Hall at Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) to register voters and make physical and digital prints to inspire others to vote. The event was a collaborative effort between the Women's and Genders Studies and Art departments. The Organization of Latin American Students (OLAS) was also present. Lucy McClure and Gabrielle Ferrell, both first-year graduate students in the Women's and Genders Studies Department, said they both felt that there was a lack of conversation around the election despite being less than one month away. After last month's campus-wide event "From Talk to Activism: Anti Racist Forum," the two wanted to translate their words into action. "We're in the middle of a civil rights uprising," McClure said. Fall Live Wreath Making: 
Saturday, Oct 17 10am: $15/pp Join us at the farm for a safe outdoor workshop to create your own holiday wreath from start to finish. We will begin with a trail walk to harvest vines along the nature trail to use in our wreath construction. Then, we will bind the vines to create the base for our wreath. And finally, touches of greenery, decorations, and bows will be added to fill out this beautiful holiday decoration. Perfect for the front door! Social distancing protocols in place; please wear a mask. TICKETS

Fall Outdoor Explorers program: Based on demand, we are opening up another session of this outdoor series This program will engage children (ages 5-11) to embrace outdoor activities during the fall season. Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Participants will look for animal tracks on the trail, build a survival shelter, enjoy (safe) time by the fire, learn of the importance of the change in seasons, understand the impact of climate change on food production and much more. Led by trained environmental educator Corey Thomas. Mixed ages to resemble sibling feel for this small group educational series. Social distancing protocols observed and children may be screened on arrival. 8 weeks/$150 per child.

Massaro Farm presents The Jolly Beggars: Friday, Oct 23 6:00-8:00pm Under the Stars & By the Fire. $15/pp. The Jolly Beggars bring the rich tradition of Celtic folk music and storytelling to modern day audiences. This is an outdoor event; chairs and blankets encouraged though some seating will be provided. Dress for fall weather. Fires will be stoked and hot cider provided to keep you warm. Covid 19 safety protocols in place. Please wear a mask when entering & exiting the farm. Outdoor restrooms available.  BYO food and drink allowed. Family friendly. TICKETS

By signing up for your KLG appointment, you also activate your reserved table. To adhere to covid restrictions, these promotions are set up for 4 people at a time. Wearing masks at the gallery is required.
