Beyond the e-news, WVRA is working every day to make Westville a brighter, safer, more vibrant place to be. "I Am ..." - 4th Annual Juried Show - Open Call to Artists. How do you see yourself? How do others see you? What makes you, you? From selfies to personal branding to the complexities of identity politics, our carefully crafted personas are routinely broadcast to the world via the internet. The modern world revels in the revelation of a semblance of self, allowing us to conceal as much as we reveal. In this age of unprecedented exposure, how can an artist offer some fresh statement of self? While navigating the boundaries between the social and the private self, how do you publicly express something real and authentic? We invite you to share some aspect of the true you, whether through a traditional version of self portraiture or some other, less conventional window to your soul. We want to know you and see you as you see yourself. We welcome any media or form of self expression in your expression of self, anticipating that this collection of selves, of I AM, will become a powerful, revelatory voice of WE ARE. DEADLINE TO SUBMIT: Sunday, March 15th by 11;59pm. FULL DETAILS HERE

Save the Date! 02/20/2020 And BRING IT! We're looking for presenters!
Saturday, January 11, 10:00am-12:00

Join PattieBelle Hastings for a 2-hour immersion into mapping your life and mind through a writing and visualization process that she calls Life mapping. This exercise is similar to a Brain Dump or Mind Sweep - where we will capture EVERYTHING that is on your mind right now, get it down on paper, and make it visual. Once everything is out in front of us, we can reflect on what the patterns and information reveal in order to move from this moment into the next with clarity and confidence. As you get the hang of this process, it can be done weekly, monthly, or whenever you are feeling overwhelmed by your life. We guarantee that you will be adding this technique to your productivity toolbox!

Space is limited, kindly RSVP using the online platform below or by emailing PattieBelle directing at

Kehler Liddell Gallery presents: Sepiessa Point, by photographer Marjorie Gillette Wolfe, with an opening reception on Sunday, January 12th, 3:00pm-6:00pm, beginning with an artist talk with Wolfe at 3:00pm.

Marjorie Gillette Wolfe has been visiting Martha's Vineyard since she was a little girl. Originally from New Haven, Wolfe continues to visit the Vineyard - sometimes as many as 10 times in a year - and found Sepiessa Point in a hiking guidebook some twenty years ago. Sepiessa Point Reservation borders Tisbury Great Pond, and the pond is contained in part by a barrier beach. The beach is periodically opened to the Atlantic for the health of the ecosystem. Wolfe's collection of nearly thirty photographs were all taken within a couple of acres - some even from the exact same vantage point - and paint a picture of Sepiessa throughout the seasons, during different weather and times of day.  "It works in a magical way for me," says Wolfe. "Every time I go there, it's different." Though some of the works have been shown individually, and some are brand new, they have never been shown as a cohesive collection, creating a retrospective of sorts, of the place, as well as the artist's connection to it.
