Business Retention & Expansion
FY2021, Q1 Results
Last week we shared some of our Entrepreneurship statistics from the first quarter of FY2021. This week, we are moving on to Business Retention and Expansion.

At the end of FY20 and through the first quarter of FY21, Business Retention and Workforce Partnership Coordinator Joanne Follon interviewed Corridor businesses for BEST of Iowa "COVID" surveys.
The statewide response rate for these surveys was 54%. The Corridor response rate was 71% with 25 respondents.

The survey categories included ownership, operations, supply chain, infrastructure, workforce and recovery.

During the Quarterly Meeting, Follon shared the following testimonial:

"We're pleasantly surprised by employees' continued commitment to showing up and continuing to work. As a "critical infrastructure" business, our employees were asked to continue working through the pandemic. A testament to a solid work ethic and support of community and the business."

Bill Van Lent, President & CEO of Veridian Fire Protective Gear in Spencer, Iowa.
