Future Ready Iowa 2019 Employer Summit

The Iowa Lakes Corridor and Spencer Municipal Utilities are co-sponsors of the Future Ready Iowa 2019 Employer Summit being held October 17th from 7:00-9:30 am at the Clay County Regional Events Center in Spencer. The focus of this event is on employers and how Future Ready Iowa can impact their businesses and workforce.
Topics the speakers are covering will include
  • work-based learning and internships
  • apprenticeships
  • engaging with underutilized populations
  • upskilling the current workforce

TEDxOkoboji announces speaker lineup for 2019

TEDxOkoboji will be at the Pearson Lakes Art Center in Okoboji from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Friday, November 22nd. The TEDxOkoboji team is proud to announce the 2019 speakers including Corridor President and CEO Kiley Miller. Tickets for the event go live on October 1.

Employer Innovation Fund- Round 2 is now open!
The purpose of the fund is to expand opportunities for more Iowans to earn for-credit and non-credit post-secondary credentials leading to high-deamnd jobs and encouraging Iowa employers, community leaders and others to collaborate to support regional workforce talent development. The fund will award competitive grants to support reigonal initiatives that accelerate credential attainment. Iowa Workforce Development is seeking collaborative applications that propose new, cutting-edge ideas as well as proven strategies.

Estherville to host Mental Health Con

September 27-29, Estherville is hosting a new event called Mental Health Con. The event was created by non-profit Fierce Good Causes and will feature music, entertainment, speakers, art and more.

BV County Community Foundation announces Fall Grant Cycle

The Buena Vista County Community Foundation has opened the application period for the 2019 Fall Grant Cycle. The Foundation provides grant funding to local not-for-profit groups in BV County with capital projects that will better the community. Applications are due October 31.
