The Corridor is Future Focused

In September, the Corridor released the Fiscal Year 2019 Annual Report, Investor List and Letter to Investors.

The Annual Report summarizes facts, successes and statistics of Corridor activities from FY2017-FY2019.
  • Business Retention, Expansion & Recruitment - 34 deals closed, 540+ jobs and $560+ million in capital investment
  • Entrepreneurship - 81 clients, 26 new businesses and $3.76 million in capital raised
  • Workforce Development - Get A Lakes Life, Future Ready Iowa, Home Base Iowa, housing expansion and regional diversity and inclusion training
Two months into Fiscal Year 2020, the region  is already enjoying exciting success with the recent announcement that the Corridor and Buena Vista University jointly won a challenge grant to support business succession programming  and the arrival of new manufacturer Godbersen Metal Works to Spencer.

BVU business students take part in Okoboji Entrepreneurial Institute

Four Buena Vista University students participated in the August Okoboji Entrepreneurial Institute. They share their experience and love for the program.

Arnolds Park in running for "Home Town Water Tower Contest"

The city of Arnolds Park is participating in the Home Town Water Tower Contest to have an Iowa artist update the water tower design. To enter, cities had to create a video to showcase their town pride as well as featuring a water element in their city.

Estherville Chamber presents awards at annual banquet

The Estherville Chamber of Commerce, Excel Estherville and the Estherville Area Growth Partnership held their annual banquet Tuesday evening. After updating attendees on the accomplishments of the organizations over the last year, the organizations presented the 2019 Chamber awards.

Iowa Arts Council visits Spencer

The Iowa Arts Council met in Spencer at the Clay County Heritage Center to discuss the current environment and opportunities for arts throughout Iowa. While here, the governor-appointed members toured five different locations in Spencer as well as a couple of other area arts organizations.
