BV Trails Council back in gear, ultimate goal: around the lake

The Buena Vista County Trails Advisory Council is still working to develop bike trails throughout the county. Though the process has been slow, there are some expected changes coming in the spring including bike route signs going up.

Plan aims for hundreds of new jobs, housing units in Spencer
The Spencer City Council has approved a resolution to implement the economic development plan developed by Toyer Strategic Consulting. This plan aims to create new, high-quality jobs as well as constructing new houses, specifically aimed at workforce housing in the next five years.

LRH preparing for anticipated office building construction

Lakes Regional Healthcare is preparing to build a new office building. The new building would allow more efficient and effective care as well as a bigger opportunity for physician recruitment efforts. Construction is expected to begin in the first quarter of this year to be completed in the spring of 2020.
