Be sure to mark your calendars for a VERY Yummy Coffee Hour on Sunday March 2, 2025 following the 10:00 AM service. Clyde and Jenni Lennon are baking up piles of cream puffs in the tradition of Fasnachts, German fried doughnuts. Fasnachts were traditionally eaten on Shrove Tuesday to use up ingredients like sugar, butter, lard, and fat, which were not eaten during Lent. Bring your sweet-tooth and join us for a decadent coffee hour.

Before we enter Lent, let’s pile on the pancakes and dance the night away! We’ll be serving up stacks of fluffy pancakes and are asking those who are able, to bring along either an appetizer or a dessert to round out our feast. After we’ve had our fill, we’ll kick up our heels for a toe-tapping, pancake-powered dance.

Using the book Walk in Love by Scott Gunn and Melody Wilson, we’ll journey together to deepen our understanding of this vibrant tradition. This program is a wonderful opportunity to ask questions, meet others, and discover more about our community of faith. Whether you’re new to the church or simply want to refresh your knowledge, you’re invited to participate. A limited number of copies of Walk in Love will be available.

The Art of the Rosary
A Rosary Making Workshop

An introduction to prayer beads, their use and history followed by a hands-on workshop. Learn to make a bead-and-cord Anglican or Catholic Rosary. Materials will be provided.
Limited to 15 people
Suggested cost $45 for materials (pay what you can).
Blanket Fort Creative is a multimedia artist studio based in the East Bay of Rhode Island. Blanket Fort workshops center rest, play, storytelling, mixing media, and the creation of meaningful artifacts. Jillian Hanon DeLong, an artist and filmmaker of 17 years, is the Fort's founder and workshop facilitator. She worked closely with Fr. Michael at his prior parish in Bristol, RI.

Weekly Formation Opportunities

Education for Ministry (EfM) theme for this year is Living into the Journey with God. EfM meets each week for 3 hours from September through June. Year 1 participants study the Old Testament, Year 2 studies the New Testament, Year 3 studies Christian History, and Year 4 puts everything together in Theology. In addition each Year reads the same two texts, one around Christmas, Jesus and the Disinherited by Howard Thurman and the second around Easter,The Four Vision Quests of Jesus by Steven Charleston. The discussions are lively and engaging and the community that is developed is well worth your time. Speak with Amy Crocker if you are interested or have questions about the program.

St. Mary's Garden Party
Date: May 17, 2025

Location: St. Mary's Garden's and Hall
Plans are well underway for our first “St. Mary’s Garden Party” to be held on Saturday, May 17th from 10 AM until 3 PM. Childrens' activities are being scheduled from 10 AM until noon. A luncheon will be held from noon until 2 PM.
The Garden Party committee is asking for creative volunteers willing to help make shell wreaths to sell, workshop dates TBD. We also need bakers to bake items for the bake sale table, and others to help make sandwiches and desserts and serve as wait staff for the Garden Party Luncheon.
Anyone willing to help with these activities should contact Sara Nixon (childrens’ activities), make wreaths, contact Liz Feretti, make craft sale items, contact Bev Parke, bake items or staff the luncheon, contact Beth Hearn. We need your talents to make this a memorable event and hope that you’re willing to help us.

OAT's Volunteer Opportunities
OAT is St. Mary's Outreach Action Team that works to highlight opportunities to serve at St. Mary's and in our greater community.

The Miracle Kitchen ministry needs some cooks and drivers to deliver to the Salvation Army this year. This practical service feeds lunch for people at the Salvation Army in downtown Hyannis. St. Mary's has been involved with providing that lunch once a month for years. Cooks shop and create a yummy casserole in the church kitchen (recipes available!) for the drivers to deliver the third Wednesday of the month.
