Boar's Head Dinner

First Lutheran Church

Our friends at First Lutheran Church are extending a warm invitation to St. Mary's parishioners to join them for their Boar's Head Dinner, a Mid-Winter night of Feasting and Fun. Acolyte, LEM and Lector Training -

Fr. Michael will be holding a training session for all current Acolytes, Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEMs), and Lectors, as well as anyone interested in joining these important ministries. Whether you are a longtime participant or feeling called to serve in a new way, this training will ensure everyone is confident and prepared for their roles in worship. No registration needed. Movie Theology

In honor of St. Valentine, and Black History Month, we are screening a wonderful love story with a title that couldn’t be more appropriate - Loving.  It premiered in 2016 and was nominated for a trifecta of awards. We’ll provide the popcorn. Please join us and bring a friend.

This is an important time to reflect, give thanks for all the blessings of 2024, and look towards our future together as a parish.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper & Dance

Before we enter Lent, let’s pile on the pancakes and dance the night away! We’ll be serving up stacks of fluffy pancakes and are asking those who are able, to bring along either an appetizer or a dessert to round out our feast. After we’ve had our fill, we’ll kick up our heels for a toe-tapping, pancake-powered dance.

Join us for Welcome to the Episcopal Church, a newcomers' program that explores the faith, history, and practices of the Episcopal Church. Using the book Walk in Love by Scott Gunn and Melody Wilson, we’ll journey together to deepen our understanding of this vibrant tradition. This program is a wonderful opportunity to ask questions, meet others, and discover more about our community of faith. Whether you’re new to the church or simply want to refresh your knowledge, you’re invited to participate. A limited number of copies of Walk in Love will be available.

The Art of the Rosary

A Rosary Making Workshop

An introduction to prayer beads, their use and history followed by a hands-on workshop. Learn to make a bead-and-cord Anglican or Catholic Rosary. Materials will be provided.

Suggested cost $45 for materials (pay what you can).

Blanket Fort Creative is a multimedia artist studio based in the East Bay of Rhode Island. Blanket Fort workshops center rest, play, storytelling, mixing media, and the creation of meaningful artifacts. Jillian Hanon DeLong, an artist and filmmaker of 17 years, is the Fort's founder and workshop facilitator. She worked closely with Fr. Michael at his prior parish in Bristol, RI. 

Book & Breakfast Group Update

The Books & Breakfast Group is currently discussing A Pilgrimage to Eternity: From Canterbury to Rome in Search of a Faith by Timothy Egan. All are welcome to join this vibrant group for their weekly gathering of morning prayer, stimulating spiritual discussions, breakfast treats and fellowship. Woods Hole Film Festival

The WHFF is screening a contemporary film for Black History Month. Union is a documentary that follows the journey of Chris Smalls after he lost his job at Amazon after protesting the lack of protective COVID regulations. Smalls formed the Amazon Labor Union, a grassroots initiative for former and current employees of the tech giant. The Church office is open to the public Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. If an Office Angel is present the front office will be open between 12:00 PM and 3:30 PM. Announcements During Services

To help us keep announcements concise while ensuring everyone is heard, we kindly ask that anyone wishing to make an announcement let Father Michael or our Senior Warden, Marian Ferguson, know by the Saturday before the Sunday services. Please include a brief description of what your announcement is about. We ask that you limit your announcements to 2 or 3 minutes maximum. This will allow us to coordinate and keep the announcement time running smoothly.
