All Saints' & All Souls' - Remembering Our Faithful Departed

A Table of Remembrance will be set up in the Lady Chapel on Friday, October 25, in honor of All Saints' and All Souls' Day. You are invited to bring a photo or memento of your departed loved ones for the table, starting on Saturday, October 26, and Sunday, October 27 during the weekend services.

The Sanctuary will be open for quiet individual prayer and reflection on Friday, November 1, and Saturday, November 2, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. All are welcome.

On Sunday, November 3, both Eucharist services will commemorate All Souls' and the Faithful Departed in our liturgy. It is customary on All Saints’ Sunday to remember in our prayers all those whom we love who have died, and especially those who have died since our last All Saints’ observance. If you would like to have someone remembered in our prayers on All Saints’ Sunday, please include their names for our necrology by filling out this online form. Please contact Fr. Michael with any questions.

St. Mary's Formation & Education

EfM

Education for Ministry (EfM) theme for this year is Living into the Journey with God. EfM meets each week for 3 hours from September through June. Year 1 participants study the Old Testament, Year 2 studies the New Testament, Year 3 studies Christian History, and Year 4 puts everything together in Theology. In addition each Year reads the same two texts, one around Christmas, Jesus and the Disinherited by Howard Thurman and the second around Easter,The Four Vision Quests of Jesus by Steven Charleston. The discussions are lively and engaging and the community that is developed is well worth your time. Speak with Amy Crocker if you are interested or have questions about the program.

You should receive a letter in the mail later this week from Father Michael along with a pledge card inviting you to prayerfully reflect upon how you can "Walk in Love" and support the good works of our church with your time, talent and treasure.

Flu, Covid, RSV - Are You Protected?

Each year, millions of people get sick from serious illnesses like flu, COVID-19 and RSV. Vaccines are your best protection — and they're covered by Medicare.
If you're 65 or older, it's especially important to stay up to date on your vaccines:
  • People 65 or older should get an updated 2024–2025 COVID-19 vaccine. If you've recently had COVID-19, you can wait 3 months to get a COVID-19 vaccine.
  • For better protection against flu, the CDC recommends people 65 or older get one of the higher-dose flu vaccines, if available.
  • The CDC recommends the RSV vaccine for people ages 60–74 who are at increased risk, and for everyone 75 or older.

Get Your Flu Shot

Looking to get a flu shot? We are happy to share that we will be hosting Cape Cod Healthcare in Walden Hall on November 4, 2024 for a flu and vaccine clinic. Click the flier below for more information about how you can sign-up on the CCHC website.
