Replacement of aging distribution piping
Work began on this project the week of May 27 and is expected to be completed in July 2019.
Work will follow a path parallel to the east side of Kentucky Hall and then past the northeast corner of Chandler Hall. It will then cross Jackson Drive to the area between the Carl M. Hill Student Center and J.S. Hathaway Hall.
The work involves removing portions of the top of the underground tunnels, installing piping and replacing the tunnel tops.
The contractor is required to provide barricades along the path or the work areas and ensure the safety of students and staff members for the duration of the work.
Summer program students can access Kentucky and Chandler on the west sides of those buildings. Work at the Student Center and Hathaway should pose no adverse problems at this time.
