Contact-Free Communion
Happy Christian New Year!
November 29 after 12:30 pm

Please email the Church Office here  before 11 am on Sunday if you wish Pre-concecrated Holy Communion to be dropped off at your front door on this Sunday afternoon. In the early afternoon, a friend will ring your doorbell and hang a bright blue bag containing Host(s), a prayer card, a candle and the invisible but potent prayers of all who love you.

We are trying everything we can think of to keep everyone safe while keeping everyone together and secure in the Palm of God's hand. We will attempt this "home communion" again probably on the first Sunday of Lent.

You are invited to  life-stream the  10am  liturgy on this first Sunday of Advent and the first Sunday of the Christian year. It is there that this bread will be blessed.

More than fifty families were fed
Before and After for the Food Bank in Somerville

Remember before? Last week you saw this picture of  our new  freezer filled to the top with chickens, turkey breasts and large pans of lasagna.

The picture below is after we gave almost all of it away and provided about a week's worth of food to more than fifty families because of  your generosity.

Thank you to all  who  contributed and all who have volunteered.  We especially  affirm those who have staffed this mission for years but made the wise decision to sit this month out.  We expect you back after the pandemic is over!

We are completely staffed for the month.
Collection for CASA SHaW
Children being placed in the Foster System because of abuse and/or neglect must usually leave their homes immediately.  Often they are offered not much more than a garbage bag into which they may hastily put their personal belongings. Fostering Love provides these children with a tiny bit of dignity and hopefully shows them that the world around them loves them during this most difficult time. During the season of Advent, we will be collecting items for Fostering Love, which benefits foster children supported by CASA SHaW (Court Appointed Special Advocate of Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren counties).

Specific items are requested based on age and gender.  Please use this link to review the available slots on the list and see if there are any items you would care to donate. In past years, generous friends have ordered in quantity from Amazon and had items directly delivered to SJOTM.  Send to:

St. John on the Mountain, Fostering Love
379 Mount Harmony Road
Bernardsville, NJ 07924

Thank you so much for your consideration and generosity!
