City Services for Labor Day – No street sweeping on Monday, but refuse will be collected as scheduled.
Community Survey for our Urban Forest Plan - Trees are an important part of our neighborhoods. Tell the City how you would like to see trees managed in Long Beach.
Greek Food & Music Festival - Starts Today! Enjoy a weekend of great food, music, and family fun. The festival runs through Monday, September 1.
New Exhibit: "Water/Ways" – Opening today at Rancho Los Cerritos! This free Smithsonian exhibition will run through November 9.

Upcoming City Council Meeting Highlight

On Tuesday, September 2, the City Council will receive presentations on the budgets for: Public Works; Parks, Recreation and Marine; Economic Development; Library, Arts, and Culture; and Technology & Innovation.

Greenbelt Walking Path Repairs are Complete!

New concrete curbs have been added to the Greenbelt to protect the restored decomposed granite path. A big thank you to the Public Works team for their work!

Community Survey for the Urban Forest Plan

The City of Long Beach is creating an Urban Forest Plan to guide how our trees and green spaces are cared for in the years ahead. Share your experiences and priorities to help shape this plan. The survey is open through October 31, 2025, in English, Spanish, Khmer, and Tagalog.

Garden Planting Day at Long Beach Marina

Join Surfrider, Long Beach Utilities, and the Long Beach Marine Bureau at Los Alamitos Bay Marina for a day of Ocean Friendly Gardening!

This year, 6,400 square feet of grass have been transformed into a beautiful landscape of rainwater retention areas and native plants. The goal is to convert an additional 3,000 square feet on September 20!

“Water/Ways” Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition

Starting today and running through November 9, you can explore the Smithsonian Traveline "Water/Ways" Exhibition at Rancho Los Cerritos.
