Vol. 02 | Issue 9

March 2, 2024

Hello Kristina,

Mark your calendars as next Tuesday, March 5, is Election Day. If you are searching for the nearest drop box or voting center, follow this link. You have until March 5 to make your voice heard.

Happy Women's History Month! This month is a special opportunity to celebrate and recognize the achievements of women in District 3. While reflecting on past accomplishments, we are also working towards creating a better future for everyone.

With the anticipation of rainy days, keeping drains clear is vital. The Long Beach Utilities Department advises against pouring fats, oils, and greases down the drain or flushing "flushable wipes." Dispose of these items in the trash to avoid potential drainage issues.

As always, the 3rd District team and I are here to help. We can be reached at District3@longbeach.gov or (562) 570-6300.

Sincerely,

Kristina Duggan

Women's History Month

In District 3, our two Business Improvement Districts are run by outstanding women!

Marissa Pfeifer, Executive Director of the Zaferia Business Improvement District, and Heather Kern, Executive Director of the Belmont Shore Business Improvement District

Their commitment and passion are commendable as they spearhead initiatives to bolster our small businesses and foster community in our neighborhoods. We are fortunate to have such inspiring women at the forefront of driving positive change and growth in District 3.

Welcome our fellows, Hailey Salcido and Aimee Tran!

Hailey and Aimee join us as part of the Public Service Corp Program

Please meet Hailey Salcido! Hailey is a last-semester student at California State University, Long Beach, and has a passion for public service. During her fellowship, she will explore strategies and technologies to increase community engagement among District 3 residents.

Meet our fellow, Aimee Tran! Aimee came to Long Beach for her undergraduate degree at Cal State Long Beach, where she fell in love with the city, diverse communities, and public service. Following her passion in environmentalism, she is pursuing her Master’s in Geography at CSULB focusing on climate change.
