Vol. 02 | Issue 7

February 17, 2024

Hello Kristina,

Rain is expected again this week, so in preparation, it is helpful to keep storm drains clear and have sandbags available. If you are able, please check the storm drain near your home to make sure that it is clear of any palm fronds or trash. Sandbags are available at the 72nd Place parking lot on the Peninsula next to the Lifeguard Station and Fire Stations 7, 12, 13, and 14. Keeping sandbags through the winter season is recommended.

Long Beach City Public Works and I visited the Bay Shore Pump Station which is operated by Los Angeles County Public Works. Representatives from Supervisor Hahn's office, including her Environmental Health Manager, led a tour to provide more information about this vital infrastructure.

Have you had a chance to visit Marina Vista Park's temporary pathway during the Open Channel Project construction? This allows residents to view the progress of the site.

As always, the 3rd District team and I are here to help. We can be reached at District3@longbeach.gov or (562) 570-6300.

Sincerely,

Kristina Duggan
