Vol. 02 | Issue 8

February 24, 2024

Hello Kristina,

Make a Difference Day is here again! We are partnering with Temple Israel and Belmont Heights Community Association to host clean-up and gardening projects in District 3. Please register for one of the following projects located at the Long Beach Greenbelt, 10th & Termino Greenbelt, or Long Beach Bikeway Route 10.

As the Chair of the Los Cerritos Wetlands Authority, I am excited to share that a land exchange agreement to restore over 150-acre of wetlands in District 3 was approved by the State Coastal Conservancy. This agreement cuts the timeline to decommission the oil wells on site and it includes constructing walking trails, a visitor center, and other amenities for everyone to enjoy.

Today, the Conservation Corps of Long Beach is hosting an e-waste and tire recycling event from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at 340 Nieto Avenue. While in the neighborhood, walk through the Colorado Lagoon and hopefully see another sea lion!

As always, the 3rd District team and I are here to help. We can be reached at District3@longbeach.gov or (562) 570-6300.

Sincerely,

Kristina Duggan
