Older women with Parkinson’s are more likely to be sedentary throughout the day, spending less time engaged in healthy physical activity — particularly the moderate to vigorous exercise tied to slower progression — than do women without the neurodegenerative disease. Female patients around age 70 also spent more time than their counterparts in low intensity activities like slow walking, but not in more intense regular exercise, analyses of data from a large U.S. study involving more than 16,700 women found. Mark Your Calendar: Annual Picnic on September 9th
We will have our annual picnic at Lynch Park in Beverly on Saturday September 9th. Thanks to Gary and Helen Bert, they submitted an application to reserve time at the Park so we can meet there from 11am-2:30pm. They plan to bring drinks, snacks and some games everyone can play. Please plan on bringing your lunch and/or some snacks to share if you wish. There won't be a formal agenda, just a time for us to connect in-person. And this will take the place of our regularly scheduled support group meeting in September. For planning purposes, please RSVP to garybert10@gmail.com and rcjames@bu.edu.
