BUSA Hike - Shaker Village
The Biology Undergraduate Students Association (BUSA) has organized a hike to Shaker Village of Pleasantville on Saturday, October 19. The fall colors are expected to be beautiful. Students and faculty have enjoyed these hikes in previous semesters. **Please note: Dogs are not allowed on the trails we will be using.
- Meeting Location: TH Morgan Loading Dock before 11 a.m.
- Departure Time: 11 a.m.
- Estimated Drive Time: 45 minutes
- Expected Start from West Trailhead: 12 p.m.

Fellowship and Funding Opportunities:
The Center for Health, Engagement, and Transformation (CHET) is offering pilot funding for University of Kentucky doctoral students to support projects aimed at identifying and reducing health disparities.
Key Details:
- Eligibility: Current doctoral students at UK (applications from the College of Arts and Sciences are particularly encouraged).
- Funding Amount: $5,000–$10,000 for 3–4 projects, with a 12-month duration.
- Application Deadline: November 8.
- Requirements: Projects must address health disparities for a vulnerable population and enhance the student’s research prospects. A faculty advisor is required.
