Need Project Help? Shakopee CAPS Intern Program Goes Virtual

The Shakopee CAPS (Center for Advanced Professional Studies) is an elective program for juniors and seniors that immerses students into authentic career experiences with the help of local business partners. As unpaid interns, students become fully immersed in a professional culture, solving real world problems, using industry standard tools, and are mentored by actual employers, all while receiving high school and college credit.

We know it may not be possible at this time for some locations to have students in person so we're making some adjustments to create an easy, safe, and mutually beneficial experience for all. Do you have projects that need to be completed? We’ll handle providing student workspaces and monitor their day-to-day work. As a business partner, you'll need to check in with the student to ensure the work is meeting your needs.

These eight-week internships will be held February 1 – March 26. Students intern about 2 hours a day on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. To help us plan, job descriptions are due this month, but can be tentative, as we know things can change. Interested in learning more? Contact Zach Eidelbes.
‘Tis the season to share joy and show love for our favorite small businesses!

Southern Valley Alliance provides victims of domestic violence and their families with support, referrals, protection, and advocacy. The Shakopee Chamber is proud to be a drop-off location for Southern Valley Alliance's Gifts of Hope program, which helps make the holidays a little brighter for their clients. Please bring new, unrapped gifts to the Chamber office (1801 East County Road 101, Shakopee).

Ad Sales To Begin For 2021 Membership Directory

Once again, the Chamber will be partnering with E&M Consulting to produce our annual Shakopee Chamber Membership Directory & Buyer's Guide.

The Membership Directory is a comprehensive list of chamber members that helps potential clients and customers find your company quickly and easily. In addition, the directory is a great resource used by many Chamber members to introduce themselves to other businesses in the Shakopee area and locate products and services from companies they can trust. Our printed directory gets mailed to our membership once per year and is a nice complement to our online directory.

All members will be represented with listing information, of course, but E&M Consulting will soon reach out to you about expanding your marketing in the publication. With rates starting as low as $69 and flexible invoicing, there are advertising options available for every business. If you are interested in pursuing advertising this year, click here to see the rates and sign up for space.
