Memorial Blood Centers Declares A Blood Emergency: Donate Blood, Save Lives

TOMORROW, Tuesday, June 15
Sun Path Elementary School (Shakopee)

More than 50% of the blood supply was lost when community blood drives were cancelled due to COVID-19. The supply is still so dangerously low that Memorial Blood Centers has declared a blood emergency. To replenish critical blood supplies for area hospitals, trauma centers, and air ambulance bases, Memorial Blood Centers urgently needs more healthy donors. If you are able and eligible, it is critical that you sign up to donate.

A few donation appointments are still available. If you've never donated blood before, now is the time to start!
THIS WEDNESDAY, please join us for Morning With The Neighbors, co-sponsored by the Shakopee Chamber & Visitors Bureau, Prior Lake Chamber of Commerce, and Canterbury Park! Enjoy a light breakfast trackside in Canterbury Park's Finish Line Cabanas, watch the horses train, and get an inside look into the world of horse racing from former jockey Mark Irving. $20 for Chamber members, $25 for non-members.
Join Twin Cities Summer Jam, the Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the Shakopee Chamber and Visitors Bureau as we welcome back summer and kick off the outdoor concert season at Canterbury Park! There will be an appetizer buffet & cash bar available, along with FREE admission to the horse races if you want to stay for the evening. Each attendee will receive a swag bag and have an opportunity to win a prize package from Twin Cities Summer Jam and Canterbury Park! Let's End Domestic Violence!

Southern Valley Alliance provides victims of domestic violence and their families with support, referrals, protection, and advocacy in Scott and Carver counties. Partner with us by printing flyers and hanging them in the restroom stalls at your business. We have found this resource valuable in reaching victims of abuse. (Please don’t use the flyers for community bulletin boards as victims rarely tear off the number in public.) Use the links below to print your own flyers. Click here if you would like us to drop off brochures and flyers, or if you have questions or need more information.

Leading Through Chaos
Wednesday, July 14
8:30 AM - 10:30 AM
Canterbury Park

"Leadership can be challenging, even during the best of times when all the stars are aligned," says Erik Therwanger, former US Marine and founder of ThinkGREAT. During times of crisis is when leadership is most needed, but while the chaos of crisis serves as the leadership catalyst for training in the Marine Corps, it's not necessarily second-nature to those working on the front-line of businesses. Erik Therwanger will share the three key leadership traits most critical "to run into the fire" at a time when FEAR (False Evidence Appearing Real) is highest and level-headed guidance is most needed. Just $35 per attendee.
