Input Needed For Unemployment Insurance Fruad Evaluation

The Office of the Legislative Auditor (OLA) seeks input for an evaluation of Unemployment Insurance fraud. With so many companies desperately seeking workers and the UI plus-up extended past summer, there are questions on whether unemployed individuals are actually seeking employment. Right now, the OLA is defining the scope of the evaluation and invites you to share your input.

What issues do you think should be evaluated? Do you have any particular areas of concern or recommendations for changes to state law or practices? (Click here for information about Unemployment Fraud.) Possible evaluation questions include:

  • How does the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) determine workers’ eligibility for unemployment benefits?
  • Is DEED effective at preventing and detecting fraudulent applications?

Click here to provide input about the scope of the evaluation. You may provide input through July 14, 2021. This opportunity is open to anyone.
Thank You For Supporting The Chamber's Blood Drive!

Due to your support, we exceeded our blood drive goal with 66 units donated! Memorial Blood Centers, MN's largest independent, nonprofit, community blood center, is the primary provider of life-saving blood to more than 30 hospital partners throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Donations made at the Chamber's blood drive have the potential to impact the lives of 188 hospital patients. In addition, this drive saw 31 first-time donors (either those who have never donated before or those who have donated but not with MBC) - WOW!
