Shakopee Police Earn Community Policing Award

The International Association of Chiefs of Police has selected the Shakopee Police Department as the recipient of its 2020 IACP Leadership Award for midsize agencies. The department was recognized for its initiative, innovation, and excellence in law enforcement practices in the areas of community safety, emerging issues, investigations, leadership, national security, transnational crime, and transportation safety. This is the second time in five years the department has earned this prestigious award. Congratulations, Shakopee Police Department!

November 15 Is Deadline For Mortgage & Rental Assistance Applications
The Scott County Board of Commissioners has allocated $2.95 million in federal CARES Act dollars for mortgage and rental support to Scott County residents who have experienced financial hardship due to COVID-19 to prevent foreclosures and evictions. The deadline to apply for both the rental assistance program and the mortgage assistance program is November 15, but eligible applicants are encouraged to apply early, as program funding is limited and may be subject to a first-come, first-served basis.
