Friends of the Farm-

Happy Friday and welcome back to another week of Live Oak Farm CSA...

What a beautiful week of Spring here in Sonoma County! This beautiful weather reminds us what lies on the other side of Winter rains- fields of green, skies of blue, and LOTS OF FARM WORK TO DO!!!

I kid, but things are busy here at the farm as this great weather window has allowed us to go full bore on new bed building, and in-field transplanting. Outdoor tomatoes are in! We just now cross our fingers and hope for more warm days and nights free of frost to get these little guys over the hump and into production.

A reminder that this marks the last week of our SPRING CSA season. Next Friday is the start of our 13-week summer quarter. See below for more details.

For our recipe this week we looked for something as refreshing as the weather this past week. Surprisingly we landed on a cocktail called English Country Garden. Highlighting the Chocolate Mint sprigs in your produce box this week, it combines elderflower liqueur, gin, and fresh lime for a light-on-its-feet Spring sipper. Cheers!

Lastly, we welcome you to enjoy our weekly music playlist...

The week was deserving of not one, but two songs titled Hello Sunshine (Jimmy Cliff & Damien Jurado). Country music legends Willie Nelson & Johnny Cash also featured this week with songs of Spring awakening titled Blue Skies and Orange Blossom Special, respectively. Taken from the 1965 album by the same name, the Johnny Cash record is worthy of a deeper dive as he covers a number of Bob Dylan tracks and sets off on the artist's signature sound. This week's mix is lighter on the disco & boogie you've found in past weeks, as we lean more towards the bluegrass, country, and singer/songwriter side this week. Sounds of Spring. Do enjoy!

All our best from the farm,

Tom & William and Live Oak Farm team

CSA Pick-Up Member Housekeeping

a note regarding pick-up timeline....

With respect to CSA pick-up we strongly encourage pick-up when vegetables are at their peak. We put a lot of care into these harvests to ensure produce is at prime form for our customers. Our pick-up option is intended to be completed by Friday evening. We understand busy lives, but in the care of the veggies you pay for feel free to give us a heads up (email is great) if you know you aren't going to make pick up. We can either move your box to our cooler overnight or look to move you to home delivery option to ensure peak freshness as your needs / schedule dictate.

Going forward we will be donating any boxes that aren't picked up by Saturday morning. We simply can't stand behind having produce sit until Sunday night, especially with only warmer days ahead. Thank you for your understanding.

Let us know if you have any questions or care to make edits to your current CSA membership (pick-up / delivery).
