Friends of the Farm-
Happy Friday and welcome back to another week of Live Oak Farm CSA...
Our first tickets are available for September 23rd Dinner with Your Farmer Series w/ Street Social & Darling Wines! Join us!
We're excited to extend invitation for an evening of savoring our farm under the midsummer sunset. Taste the flavors and seasonality of our produce backed by the imagination of great local chefs. Great wine partners too!
Save the date and look out for more dates and tickets to be released in the weeks ahead. (Details and link to 9/23 tickets below)
Berries are starting to arrive! In this week's produce delivery we feature strawberries. We're happy to celebrate some of our first blueberries were picked this past week and with warmer temperatures expect a good crop in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
For our recipe this week we raise a glass to Dad for Father's Day and turn these ripe strawberries into a refreshing herbal solstice cocktail. These next two weeks are some of the longest days of the year. Celebrate by doing some outdoor cooking / grilling and adventuring in our beautiful backyard of Sonoma County and beyond!
Lastly, we welcome you to enjoy our weekly music playlist...
This week's playlist gives a slight nod to all the Dads out there for Sunday's celebration of Father's Day with Color Him Father by the Winstons and the vibe-setting acoustic gem, Father (Soul) by the Quantic Soul Orchestra. Don't miss the two 10-minute jammers on this week's mix- a live rendition of Traffic's Light Up Or Leave Me Alone (from the 1973 album On the Road) and a solid dose of afro-funk ala Cymande's Dove (1972). This week's playlist also features the likes of Pavement, J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr. frontman), Dr. John, Ike Turner, KISS, Mac DeMarco, and many more.
I have my own dad to thank for instilling an early love of music and building the foundations of my record collection. Rock on Dads!
All our best from the farm,
Tom & William and Live Oak Farm team
