Friends of the Farm-
Happy Solstice! This week we celebrated summer's high with the longest days of the season. We felt it too by way of the recent heat spell. Our first full flush of tomato harvest is just weeks away. We work now to set our crop and build plant and fruit health.
Our orchard stone fruits also continue to mature and will be coming through in the weeks ahead. We're starting to get great color and the trees are loaded with fruit.
We acknowledge the trying times our country faces with respect to today's news from the Supreme Court and the battle for truly equitable civil rights for all. We wish you all the nourishment, health, well-being and love with which we cultivate organic fruit and vegetables from the efforts of our farm. That much we are sure of. We remain committed in this work for the love of its tireless craft, the families we are happy to feed, and the community we continue to grow through our farming.
Lastly, we welcome you to also enjoy our weekly curated music playlist.
Hints of summer and your weekend are celebrated in this edition with tracks such as Summer Breeze by The Main Ingredient, Lookout Weekend by Debbie Deb, and My Boy Lollipop by Millie Small. If you're not familiar with Nashville-based up and comer Daniel Donato his track Why You Been Gone So Long, as well as the funkier side of Barbara Streisand's catalog with Queen Bee both are worthy discoveries. Enjoy!
All our best from the farm,
Tom & William and Live Oak Farm team
