Friends of the Farm-

Happy Friday!
This week at the farm we're continuing to see tomatoes grow in size on the vine. It will only be a few weeks more until we'll start to see all the beautiful hues of mixed heirlooms and cherry tomatoes ready for summer enjoyment. Plums, carrots, cucumbers, sweet peppers, basil, kohlrabi, and more are shortly on their way too! This week our team also put in a big push to plant flowers, and flip & build new beds for future successions.

Be sure to check your calendars for not one, but two summer farm dinners we've announced here at Live Oak Farm - June 25 & August 13. Flyer below for more info.

This week's falafel recipe is a great use of most of the featured produce in your CSA box. Fresh & nutrient dense, these can either be fried or baked. The dough can also be refrigerated or frozen for future dinners and snacks. A great spotlight for this week's Green Coriander, especially.

Don't forget to tune into this week's edition of our CSA music playlist. Link to our Spotify playlist is attached below to join the groove.
This week we jump right in with Michael Jackson's, Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'. It seemed only natural with lyrics like "You're a vegetable, you're a vegetable owwww!". The BPM's (beats per minute) stay high with tracks like Paris-born, Lizzy Mercier Descloux's Funky Stuff, and the 1998 Fatboy Slim classic, Praise You. As you've come to expect with these playlists, this one too is an eclectic mix of genre and new musical discovery. A new favorite this week is The Equals with Michael & His Slipper Tree '93. The chorus is infectious. Have fun with this mix and continuing to shred your kitchen air guitar. Enjoy!

All our best from the farm,
Tom & William and Live Oak Farm team
Live Oak Farm Dinner Series
We're excited to announce two summer dates for the debut of our Live Oak Farm dinner series. The evening will include farm tours, dinner & wine with an emphasis on crops in the field and all produce coming from our organic farm. If you have joined us for one of these events as our previous farm, Umbel Roots in Solano County you know just how much fun these evenings can be. We look forward to sharing our farm, food, fun wines, and friends new & old in this summer series. Join us won't you?!?
