Friends of the Farm-
Happy Friday!
We're in the middle of our fall flip here at the farm. Our season's last tomatoes and cucumbers from our covered high-tunnels are celebrated in this week's produce box. Many of these beds saw weeding, and reset to sowing new crops and transplant starts from our greenhouse. We'll continue with our last few tomato plants as long as we continue to see these last few flushes of ripe fruit. We're excited to have a clean space to start our next successions in this space with our work this week.
We very much look forward to the weekend of rains and cooler temperatures ahead. Both us farmers, and the crops in progress love the prospect of this precipitation. Great weather to roast squash and make hearty veggie stews while our new plants get watered in.
Lastly, we welcome you to enjoy our weekly music playlist...
There's a bit of residual spook in this week's sound with respect to Halloween and Dia De Los Muertos. From the surf-rock influence of the Allah-La's No Werewolf, King Tuff's, Black Moon Spell, or the smoky organ sounds from Chica Libre's, Tres Pasajeros. The later half this too leans on the Autumn-kissed sounds of bluegrass from female artists Ola Belle Reed, Gillian Welch, Hazel Dickens, & Etta Baker. Enjoy!
All our best from the farm,
Tom & William and Live Oak Farm team
