Chamber Leadership Breakfast Features Future Leaders

Congratulations to Salem Community College student Myles Hill and alumna Faith McAllister on their selection to attend the Salem County Chamber of Commerce’s annual Leadership Breakfast. Myles and Faith joined 50 Chamber members at the Salem County Vocational-Technical High School for a program titled, “Branding and Leadership: Preparing for What’s Ahead.” They were the Chamber’s special guests through the Future Leaders Fund, established by Jennie and Bill Clark.

Myles is a second-year student, majoring in sport management. He is an ambassador with the SCC Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) program. Myles is also the student manager of the Mighty Oaks football and men’s basketball teams. He is a 2025 graduate of Penns Grove High School.

Faith is the enrollment counselor for the SCC EOF program. A two-time SCC graduate, she holds associate degrees in criminal justice - law enforcement (2023) and social science – psychology (2024). She played two seasons for the Mighty Oaks softball teams, earning Academic All-Star recognition both seasons and the 2024 Division II All-Garden State Athletic Conference second team. Faith earned a bachelor’s degree from Rowan University and is now pursuing a master’s degree in secondary school counseling from Wilmington University. Afterwards, she plans to earn a graduate certificate in clinical mental health counseling. Faith is a 2022 graduate of Pennsville Memorial High School.

Franklin Bank Reveals New Community Mural

On October 24th, we celebrated a very special moment in Franklin Bank’s 165th anniversary year: the reveal of our new community mural.

Earlier this year, our community voted to select a student artist to bring this project to life, and Penns Grove High School student Cadence Jackson was chosen to create the winning design. After working on the mural throughout the summer, Cadence officially completed her work on October 24 by adding her signature during our mural reveal ceremony.

Cadence shared that her inspiration came from wanting to honor the beginnings of banking while connecting that history to our own story as a community bank. Her design incorporates the pillars of the building and their connection to banking in Roman society, a large penny representing those early origins, and familiar elements including Benjamin Franklin, his kite, and our branch.

We were honored to celebrate Cadence Jackson alongside her family, friends, and art teacher, Ashlee Jones as well as Sean Sepsey, Director of Salem County Economic Development; Edward Ramsey, Salem County Commissioner; and John Fitzpatrick, Chair of Franklin Bank’s Board.

In recognition of Cadence’s creativity, dedication, and incredible work, Franklin Bank was also proud to present her with a $1,000 award.

For 165 years, our story has been shaped by the community around us. We’re so proud to have Cadence’s artwork become a lasting part of that story for years to come.

November 1, 2026

Strong Partnerships. Stronger Communities.

Dear Community Partner,

For more than four decades, Habitat for Humanity of Salem County has been building homes, strengthening neighborhoods, and helping families remain safe in their homes. None of this would be possible without the generosity of our corporate and community partners.

And what a remarkable year 2026 has been!

Thanks to the support of businesses, volunteers, and community partners, our small but dedicated affiliate continues to make a significant impact throughout Salem County:

·        72 reusable accessibility ramps helping residents with mobility challenges safely enter and leave their homes.

·        Our seventh FREE roof for a local veteran in Pilesgrove, through the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Program and the generous partnership of High Point Roofing, donating the installation.

·        The Carneys Point Home Repair Program addressing critical health, safety, and accessibility repairs for low-income homeowners.

·        Continued construction of affordable homes creating opportunities for local families to achieve the stability and security of homeownership.

These accomplishments reflect the power of partnerships and what we can achieve together.

As we approach Giving Tuesday, December 1, we invite our corporate friends to help us build on this momentum. While project-specific funding supports much of our construction and repair work, unrestricted contributions provide the essential foundation that allows our team to coordinate programs, leverage partnerships, manage resources, and respond to emerging community needs.

Our Giving Tuesday goal is $15,000 to support the ongoing operations that make all of this work possible.

As you consider your year-end charitable giving, we hope you will include Habitat for Humanity of Salem County. Your investment strengthens an organization with a proven record of turning generosity into meaningful, lasting results right here in our community.

Thank you for being part of our story and for helping us continue building homes, communities, and hope.

With sincere appreciation,

Katie Ferrell | Fundraising Chair, Board of Directors

Shainna Waddington | Director of Operations

GIVING TUESDAY | DECEMBER 1, 2026 | GOAL: $15,000

Give online at habitatsalem.org or mail your contribution to the address above. Please designate “Giving Tuesday – General Operations.”

November 16 SCC's Health Care Speed Interviewing Seeks Participants

Hello Everyone!

South Jersey's health care workforce is being built right now, in our classrooms and clinical labs, and we'd like you to be part of it.

On Monday, November 16, Salem Community College will host our Health Care Speed Interviewing & Networking Event; I'm personally inviting you to join us as an interviewer. You'll meet motivated students who are preparing for health care careers. They're ready to make a strong first impression, and they're eager for real feedback from the professionals who may one day hire them.

Event Details

Date: Monday, November 16

Time: 6:00 – 8:00 PM

Location: Davidow Theatre, Salem Community College, 460 Hollywood Avenue, Carneys Point, NJ 08069

What to Expect

The evening is fully structured, so you can focus on the conversations. Each interviewer will receive:

• A clear agenda for the evening

• A set of pre-determined interview questions

• A simple, timed rotation format that keeps things moving

You don't need to prepare anything. Just bring your experience and your perspective. In two hours, you'll meet a strong pool of emerging talent, connect with fellow employers and community partners, and help shape the next generation of health care professionals in our region.

Whether you're actively recruiting or simply want to invest in the pipeline, your time will make a meaningful difference to these students.

Please confirm your participation by November 10th by replying to this email or contacting me directly at cracite@salemcc.edu or 856-381-9935. If a colleague from your organization would also be a great fit, please feel free to share this invitation.

I look forward to seeing you on the 16th.

With appreciation,
