Join us for Worship!

Sunday, 10am

This week we continue our Lenten journey in the Gospel of John.

We will skip far ahead in the Gospel of John to chapter 9, where Jesus heals a man who was born blind. As in all of the miracles in John, this miracle is not to suggest that the blind man is "broken," but it is a way to help us see who Jesus really is. To do that, Jesus spits in the dirt! Why on earth would he do that? What could this mean for us?

Rev. Ginny Rainey will be preaching this Sunday.

Scripture: John 9:1-42

This Sunday is UMCOR Sunday

The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) offers immediate assistance for those experiencing natural disaster, war, or who are fleeing their homeland. UMCOR has a number of special projects (like Ukraine relief) where they take 100% of your donation and apply it to the impacted area rather than use any portion for overhead or logistics. In order to do that, UMCOR uses one special offering from churches to cover its administrative cost. This Sunday is our chance to give to UMCOR workers and staff. These gifts ensure UMCOR can respond swiftly to disasters around the world and as a source of hope and healing for those left most vulnerable.

Church Auction FIESTA May 7th

Our Auction Fiesta is on Sunday, May 7! The auction committee is excited to get this party started. We hope you are too, because eight events are already scheduled!

All of us know that this auction's success is entirely dependent on your active support in donating items and attending the auction. Thank you! This congregation and our local community demonstrated record-breaking support last year.

For those who wish support our mission outreach in 2023, be an auction sponsor, donate a service or item, or host an event, we can use your help!

Please complete the Auction Donation Form by clicking this link or the button below. There are also printed forms available at the back of the sanctuary. If you need ideas of what to donate, don't hesitate to talk with an auction committee member (click the link to email Susan!).

Please submit your completed form as soon as possible to Susan Friend, Jan Kintonis, or Denise Karhoff King. Thank you for helping to make this FIESTA happen!

Supplies Needed!

At the Men’s Group meeting last Saturday, they learned that the Outreach House could use toiletry items such as toilet paper, tissues, toothpaste, toothbrushes. During Lent, you’re invited to give those items in a box at the back of the church.

Lenten Study

Lent is a season of prayer and preparation for Easter. This season, we invite you to learn more about The Lord's Prayer.

Most Christians know the Lord’s Prayer by heart. We pray it often, at different times and in different settings. We remember it as the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples. But do we really understand and appreciate the meaning and power of its words, what we ask of God each time we pray it?

When the disciples asked Jesus how to pray, Jesus gave them this prayer. He likely taught it to his followers often, not just one time. He never intended the Lord’s Prayer to be a museum piece, framed and placed on a mantel or in a display case. It was Jesus teaching God’s people, through his disciples, how to pray.

We're offering two class times to learn about this prayer. Each class will feature an approximately 20 minute video led by Rev. Adam Hamilton, pastor of Church of the Resurrection in Kansas City, Kansas (and one of the largest United Methodist Churches in the United States). You can choose to join the Sunday morning group at 8:30am before church. Or you can join the online study on Wednesdays at 6:30pm.

There is a companion book that is available (but not necessary) for a $20 donation.

Join us either Sunday morning at 8:30am

OR Wednesday night via zoom at 6:30pm. (click for the link)

This week, we'll focus on the phrase "forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us."

What's With Our Sign?

If you have been to our church lately, you might have noticed that our sign out front is not working. This week, our Trustees approved making a repair on our 10-year-old (plus) sign. The contract is signed, the part is ordered, and we should have it back up and working sometime in the next couple of weeks.
