CenterPoint Energy Annual Gas Leak Survey
CenterPoint Energy technicians, under contract with Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, will be surveying all gas lines in housing areas over the next few weeks. Work hours will be Monday-Thursday between 8:00am-3:00pm. The dates below are weather-permitting:
-
Surveying in The Woods housing area will begin the Week of 25 August.
-
Surveying in The Prairies housing area will begin the Week of 25 August and continue through the Week of 1 September.
- There will be up to four technicians performing this activity with CenterPoint Energy employees on stand-by for emergency response if needed.
- All technicians will be wearing safety vests and vehicles are marked accordingly.
- The work should only require the technicians to access the outside of your home up to the gas meter.
- Inside access will be required if a leak is found and requires inside investigation. In this situation emergency response protocols are in place with the fire department for their immediate response.
- Weather permitting, all work should be completed by the week of 8 September.
Please make sure these technicians have access to your gas meter. If applicable, please remove the locks from your gate the week(s) the technicians are scheduled to work. Please make sure to pick up after your animals and look before you let your pet outside to make sure the technicians are not currently working in your yard.

Hard Surface Restoration in The Woods
CenterPoint Energy has started the next phase of their project for The Woods. Starting Wednesday, 20 August you will notice crews from CenterPoint Energy or Miller Pipeline begin their hard surface restoration. The streets affected by this will include Dupont, Picket, Halleck, Sykes, and Welcome.
As work progresses on this project, traffic management will be in effect, and some areas may have restricted access. Full access and regular traffic patterns will be restored once the project is finished. Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to improve the infrastructure in our community.
