Planning to Be Away? Let Us Know!


Vacation coming up? Going on leave or TDY?


If you plan to be away from your home for more than five days, it’s important to take a few extra steps to protect your home and community.


Residents must make arrangements for someone to watch over the home and provide prudent care, such as lawn maintenance and mail collection.


This is especially critical during the winter months, when a heating failure or broken water pipe can go unnoticed and cause significant — even catastrophic — damage.


Before you leave, please notify the Leasing Office of your anticipated absence and provide the name and contact information of the individual you have designated to care for your home and perform routine resident maintenance.


👉 Why this matters: If your designated contact is locked out and we don’t have their information on file, they will not be able to gain access to your unit — potentially delaying response to an urgent issue.


A little planning goes a long way in protecting your home. Thank you for helping us keep our community safe and well‑maintained!


NOTE: If you will be on TDY or CED orders longer than 90 days, please ask us about our DSP program!


YARD COMPLIANCE REMINDER


Quality Assurance began yard inspections and will issue violation notices for homes not meeting mowing/trimming standards. This will continue through Spring, Summer, and Fall.


Residents must keep grass cut, fence lines weeded, and bushes trimmed within the 50 feet of their home's exterior. Please see the Resident Handbook for additional details.


Free lawncare equipment is available for loan at Self‑Help!

Transitioning from Active Duty?


If you’re preparing to retire or separate from active duty, please stop by the Leasing and Management Office within five (5) days of receiving your official notification so we can walk you through the next steps for housing!


We truly appreciate your service and are here to support you during your transition.



Gas Line and Fence Replacement Project - ONGOING

(Legacy Homes in The Prairies)

PWF’s contracted vendor, Apollo Home, is working at The Prairies Legacy homes to replace the existing gas service lines. In coordination with this project, crews will be removing and rebuilding the privacy fencing to streamline work and minimize disruption.


To prepare, please ensure the following steps are completed before work begins:



*  Remove all items from your porch and store them inside sheds or garages.

*  Clear all items from on and around fences and sheds.

*  Remove any locks from gates to allow easy access.

*  Pick up all pet waste, and keep pets leashed while outside.

*  Supervise children closely, as crews will be digging and working in open areas.

*  Please be mindful of workers and equipment to support a safe work zone.
