Wind & Storm Preparation Tips
In Ohio, we experience a variety of weather events throughout the year, from strong winds to severe storms. It’s always better to be prepared before these events occur. To help protect your property and stay safe, please follow these storm preparation tips:
-
Secure Outdoor Items: Bring in or secure loose items like play equipment and furniture, and secure trash bins away from streets. You can use trampoline stakes/anchors/sandbags to help secure your trampoline to the ground if needed.
-
Check Screen Doors: Ensure they are properly latched to prevent damage from wind. If they do not latch correctly, please call in a maintenance order prior to any storm.
-
Prepare for Damage: Check tree limbs and secure outdoor items that could be hazardous in high winds.
-
Storm Safety Kit: Pack essentials like flashlights, extra batteries, a portable charger, first aid kit, water, non-perishable food, and a battery-powered radio.
-
Driving Safety: If traveling, allow extra time, watch for debris, and drive at slower speeds.
Being prepared in advance helps ensure your safety during any storm. If a storm causes damage to your home, please reach out to maintenance to submit a work order, or keep an eye out for updates via PWF emails.

Pet Care
Please remember your pets must be on a leash when walking outside of your dwelling and under control of a responsible person capable of controlling the pet under any circumstances. DO NOT walk your pets or allow your pets to run loose in other residents’ yards. Do not restrain your animal to any fixtures such as trees, downspouts, porches, or buildings.
If you own a pet, you MUST clean pet areas daily, or more often if necessary, to prevent the areas from becoming a public nuisance. This must be done year-round. When walking your pet, you must immediately clean up feces left in any common area or other residents’ yards and place it in a your own waste receptacle.

Air Conditioning Units
PWF will not be working on any air conditioning units prior to 15 April. Due to extreme fluctuations in weather this time of year, using the AC units can cause damage. Should you need to cool your home, open your windows to let in any cross-breeze and use your ceiling fans.
Additionally, air conditioning will be addressed as routine service status unless the outside daily temperature is 85 degrees or higher.

Make your home beautiful!
With the nicer weather approaching, it is a great time to clean up around your home's exterior and yard! These tasks include mowing, weeding, & cleaning up pet waste that has been hidden throughout the winter! We recommend holding off on setting up any lawn furniture or children's equipment until the threat of spring storms and slow.

Technicians will focus on areas off Spinning Road, from Airway to Chapel, particularly around Hickam, near Page Manor School and the Page Manor shopping complex. CenterPoint Energy Project in The Woods
CenterPoint Energy has started the next phase of their project for The Woods, with work continuing through early Fall. During this phase, you will notice crews from CenterPoint Energy or Miller Pipeline marking sewer and storm lines at certain homes and street crossings, using a vac truck to spot utilities, and installing gas main lines.
CenterPoint Energy has begun digging/using a vac truck along VanDorn Lane, Longstreet Lane, and the walking path that runs parallel to Kauffman Road, from Shields Avenue to VanDorn Lane.
Once CenterPoint Energy provides a schedule for individual gas outages, a PWF employee will reach out to individual residents with additional details. Please stay alert for these crews and be mindful of any changes in traffic patterns while work is being performed.
