**Extra hours will NOT roll over from Spring 2024 to Fall 2024.

How to Check the Status of Your Community Service Submissions:

1. Sign in to the Get Involved at SIUE website (https://getinvolved.siue.edu/).

2. Click on your photo or the gray circle with your initials at the top right of the page.

3. Select “Experiences” (NOT “Service Hours”) from the drop-down menu.

4. Each submission will show its status (approved, pending, or denied):

Fall 2024 Community Service

IMPORTANT: Community service completed April 16 - May 3 will NOT be applied to JH Scholarship requirements for any semester.

The only exception to this rule is the Helping Hands Program mentioned in the JHS News Alert email sent on Thursday, April 11. Hours earned through Helping Hands April 15 - 26 should be submitted via Get Involved no earlier than May 4 and will be applied to the Fall 2024 community service requirement.

Q: Do I have to do community service for Fall 2024 if I will be graduating in December 2024?

A: Yes! If JH Scholarship funds are applied to your bill for the Fall 2024 semester, you are required to complete community service for the Fall 2024 semester. Community service helps you grow both personally and professionally. It enhances your education and helps you build valuable skills for all your future endeavors.

Completing and reporting at least 12 hours of approved community service between May 4 - December 2, 2024 is one of the requirements to receive Johnetta Haley Scholarship funds for the Spring 2025 semester.
