NOVEMBER SERMON SERIES
This Week In Worship
To Prepare For Worship:
Pastor’s Prayer Partners Petitions
A PRAYER FOR BUILDINGS
Our congregation has been blessed through a number of building programs. In 1996 we constructed our middle school and pre-school wing. In 1993 we dedicated our current sanctuary. Some may remember our school building programs of 1965, 1962 and 1953. Of course, we could go back to the small log building on Cedarburg’s main street where our First Immanuel family began in 1853.
In II Chronicles, chapter 6, Solomon dedicates the great Temple in Jerusalem to the glory of God. This was no simple building. This would be Israel’s national cathedral. It will be the place where they make their sacrifices and offer their prayers.
Take time to read Solomon’s prayer in II Chronicles 6:12-42. Take note of the following:
·      Who gets the credit for this beautiful building?
·      What promises are made?
·      Why is forgiveness such a big part of the dedication prayer?
What part does our sanctuary play in your life and in the life of your family?
Thanks for your partnership in prayer,
Pastor Raasch
  PRAYING FOR YOURSELF
Reflect on what is on your heart and mind and take it to God in prayer.

Is there something we can pray about for you?
Praying for One Another
  • Jean Dummann, who recovers following successful cardiac surgery this week. Give thanks for medical miracles that enhance life.
  • All who battle cancer, including Judy Wiechert, Brad Sachse and Pastor Joel Brandt. Pray that the Lord would bless their treatments, deliver them from pain and strengthen them and their families in faith.
  • Muriel Going, Genevieve Anschuetz, Sonia Buhrow, Aiden Last, Lois Bublitz, Hope Kittel, Dee Lewis,  Bernice Zeckmesiter and Lois Jung, as they contend with ongoing health issues. Ask the Lord to grant healing and strength for the body and peace and joy for the soul.
PRAYING FOR FIL MINISTRIES & OTHERS

Our Mission of the Month, Saukville and Port Washington Food Pantries , which provide food for those of our ministry community who live with financial challenges. Pray for those who receive food, but also ask the Lord to motivate His people to be caring and generous in their support of these needed services.

Pray for our Guardian Angels Appeal , which provides needed funding for families of our First Immanuel Lutheran School. Give thanks for the First Immanuel Lutheran Endowment, as it has announced it will match the first $25,000 of donations!

MISSION OF THE MONTH
Have you ever wanted to speak up during a sermon and say, “Pastor, can you repeat that last comment, it didn’t quite get that.” How about, “I really don’t understand where you are going with this message, Pastor!” SERMON REWIND can be your opportunity to do just that. SERMON REWIND will take place in the fellowship hall at First Immanuel from 10:10 – 10:30 a.m. each Sunday morning. You can get your questions answered or get a sneak peek at the sermon of that day. It is an informal Q&A based discussion so bring your questions and your sermon outline!
What does it mean to be a good disciple? Are we walking with others the way Jesus wants us to? Are we growing in our relationship with Him more and more each day? How can we be more effective at helping others to know Jesus and know Him better ourselves? These questions and more will be discussed at this discipleship event.
Screenagers Next Chapter
On Sunday November 17th at 1:00 pm at the First Immanuel campus we will be showing this documentary. This film examines the science behind teen’s emotional challenges, the interplay of social media, and most importantly, what can be done in our schools and homes to help them build crucial skills to navigate stress, anxiety, and depression in our digital age.
STEPHEN MINISTRY MOMENT
In Matthew 25, verse 35, Jesus says, “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me…” We have many opportunities to respond to Jesus’ love by showing that love to others. Stephen Ministry is one way that our congregation shows that love to people who have deep needs for care. All of us have many opportunities to show Jesus’ love in our daily lives. As you encounter people this week, try asking yourself, “How can I show them Jesus today?” You may wish to suggest that someone with special concerns call Pastor Reichmann at 377-6610 for possible referral to a Stephen Minister or, if that person gives permission, you may call Pastor Reichmann on that person’s behalf. A care receiver need not be a member of First Immanuel or River of Life.
