This Week In Worship - Bluff Edition
To Prepare For Worship:
Pastor’s Prayer Partners Petitions
Spice It Up
Often, when areas of our life become routine we are told to “spice it up.” Married couples will take a second honeymoon. Work teams will often conduct team building exercises. Major league baseball teams have been known to take in a little league game. This is all done to prevent us from falling into a routine in which we fail to fully appreciate our partnerships.
There are times that our daily prayer lives can become routine. Sometimes we resort to the same dinner prayers or bedtime prayers, which isn’t wrong, but the more routine it can become, the less heartfelt it can be.
Perhaps we can “spice up” our prayer life. One of the ways to do this is by incorporating a Psalm during our prayer time. Dr. Martin Luther found the prayers to be of utmost importance in his prayer life. In the Psalms Luther found both comfort and strength.
The Psalms provide for us beautiful prayers to be used in our prayer time. When you turn to prayer begin by praying one of the Psalms and then follow with your petitions. The Psalms will serve as a wonderful spice for your prayers and your heart.
Thanks for your partnership,
          Pastor Raasch
  PRAYING FOR YOURSELF
Reflect on what is on your heart and mind and take it to God in prayer.

Is there something we can pray about for you?
Praying for One Another
  • Will Stauske, Muriel Going, Genevieve Anschuetz, Sonia Buhrow and Aiden Last, Lois Bublitz, Hope Kittel and Dee Lewis as they are contend with ongoing health issues. Ask the Lord to grant healing and strength for the body and peace and joy for the soul.
  • Gary Krohn, who receives hospice care. Keep him from pain and continue to give him the peace that comes only through faith in Jesus.
  • Judy Wiechert and all who contend with cancer. Pray for miracles, effective treatments and peace of heart and mind.
PRAYING FOR FIL MINISTRIES & OTHERS

Pray for auxiliary groups, Men’s Club, Ladies Aid, LWML, Organization of Parents and Teachers, as they support the mission and ministry of First Immanuel Lutheran. Give them the wisdom to connect with our ministry’s strategic plan in such a way that the Gospel would be proclaimed locally and globally

Our Mission of the Month is Habitat for Humanity, which partners with people in communities and all over the world, to help them build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With community support, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and for their families. In 2020, Habitat for Humanity will serve more people than ever before through decent and affordable housing.

An existing home built a few years ago by HFHO is located just west of Sendik’s on Columbia Rd. in Grafton. There is room for two more homes on that site, which is where the 2019-2020 build is going to be. There will be many opportunities to volunteer during the build process, which will begin in late August or September 2019. can also visit www.ozhh.org . Above all, please keep this Mission of the Month in your prayers, asking the Lord’s blessing upon it. Please pray about our congregational involvement in the build, and your personal involvement as well.
