MY ITEM OF THE WEEK...
On rare occasions a piece of furniture arrives in the store that stops me in my tracks. This "Theodore Alexander" Jupe dining table and its inherent ingenuity simply amaze me.
The brass jupe mechanism was invented in England in 1836. This design allows the table to rotate and expand from 68" to 90" dia. when 8 leaves are easily inserted.--When not in use the leaves are stored in a beautifully crafted cabinet.
Considering the table was purchased for $15,000, at $3,498 it is a steal!
