Seasonal Generosity Opportunities

Seasonal Generosity Opportunity envelopes will be available in the foyer near the parish hall this weekend. These envelopes have a list of options on the front and you may select as many as you wish, sign your name to the bottom, and place your monetary donation inside. Donations received will be used to purchase thanksgiving food baskets for OJ Semmes, give books to every OJ Semmes student, gift cards for Wilmer Hall, and sign up to serve or deliver Thanksgiving meals with Epps Christian Center. The envelopes can be dropped in the offertory plate on Sunday or brought to the office anytime.

Election Week

Labyrinth Walk Opportunities

Labyrinth Walk: An Election Prayer Practice For Peace of Mind and Heart

Tuesday, November 5th, you are invited to come and walk the St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church Labyrinth. Spend a few minutes prayerfully walking or sitting in our Meditation Garden. Consider what you are carrying with you and listen as you are invited to lay it down. In a time when emotions are high and the ways we are divided are abundantly clear, you are invited to walk, sit and pray. We will also have a prayer card for those who desire some structure for their prayer. The area is elegantly lit for a night-time prayer walk, so come as you can. The Labyrinth and Meditation Garden will be available from 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Wednesday, November 6th, Midweek Manna – This night, we are incorporating a shared potluck meal, a Labyrinth Walk and sacred music in the Chapel. Groups of 7 people at a time will be invited to walk the Labyrinth in 15-minute increments. There is a Sign-Up Genius link below to schedule your time in the Labyrinth, or call the office to sign up. The Meditation Garden is available anytime, but we are scheduling the walks to ensure that the Labyrinth is not congested. This Midweek Manna Gathering will be less structured – as it will primarily be an opportunity for personal prayer in and amongst fellow Christopher’s. There will be no children’s ministry or EYC programming on November 6th. You are invited to enjoy a meal, as well as a time of meditation and prayer with your family.

The Schedule:

5:30 p.m. — Shared potluck meal in the Parish Hall

6:00 — 7:15 p.m. – Rachel Bettis will be playing the flute in the Meditation Garden

6:00 — 7:15 p.m. – Sacred Music in the Chapel and time for prayer

Labyrinth Walking in Groups of 7 (or less)

Before 5:30 p.m. – Anyone can walk the Labyrinth

Sign Up Genius Link to Schedule your Labyrinth Walk Time.

Availability from 5:30-7pm.

Bakers Needed for Caravan

Dear Bakers,

Please start your baking for Caravan! Each year we have a bake sale as part of the weekend. Baked goods can be made now and brought to the church to be frozen until Caravan. Make sure to wrap everything well and put in ziplock bags. Baked goods can be dropped off to the church office Monday - Thursday or on Sundays. Call me with questions (850) 607-7355.

Thanks with love,

Jerry Cotsonis

Caravan Silent Auction

We need your help once again for our 2024 Caravan Silent Auction. We will be collecting vintage, gently used, and collectible items for the auction. (We will not have Granny's Attic this year) A table will be set up in the nursery hallway to place your donated items beginning this week. Items will be accepted up to the day of the auction.

If you have anything you can contribute or if you have a relationship with a local business, please seek their support. Gift Certificates from restaurants and other service establishments are always popular. (Please drop off gift cards to the front office.)

Every year we do very well in the Silent Auction with wine baskets. We welcome your donations of wine! You may drop off your wine in the large basket in the Parish Hall on Sundays. All proceeds from the Silent Auction go to charities.

Thanks to those of you who have already volunteered to help with Caravan. If you would like to help or have any questions about our event, contact Val Cole at 850-572-7742 / vacole@bellsouth.net or Pat Fogg at 850-384-4800 / plfogg@aol.com.

PARISH DIRECTORY

The church is preparing to publish an updated printed directory and needs your help.

NEWS FROM THE DIOCESE

The Investiture of Presiding Bishop-elect Sean Rowe

Watch Online

The investiture service for the new presiding bishop will be held on Saturday, November 2 at 10 a.m. CT with roll call videos beginning at 8:30 a.m. CT. The service will be live streamed so you can watch it anywhere using this link: https://www.episcopalchurch.org/investiture/

Project Neighbors

In a time of deep division and rising tension, how do we recapture the ethic of loving our neighbor? The Episcopal Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast invites you to join "Project Neighbors," a six-week video reflection series aimed at rediscovering hope, compassion, and connection.

Each week’s session will focus on a key biblical value — hospitality, sacrifice, gratitude, compassion, and peace — guiding us toward healing and understanding. Through personal stories, scripture, and reflection, we’ll explore how these timeless principles can lead us back to each other in love. Whether you join individually or in a group, we invite you to walk with us as we seek to remember what truly matters: loving our neighbors as ourselves.
