Season of Creation

September Holy Strollers

Saturday, September 26 at 9:00 am

Johnson Beach, Gulf Islands National Seashore, Perdido Key unit

Take Perdido Key Road (Hwy. 292) over the Intracoastal Waterway bridge to the traffic circle, and exit east onto Johnson Beach road to the Gulf Islands National Seashore entrance.

We look forward to seeing you as we resume our Holy Stroll for the fall, at the peaceful and beautiful Johnson Beach. Don't forget your water, and bring your binoculars for bird watching, too.

So that we know you are coming, please text or call Ad Platt (850.982.8480) or Margaret Platt (850.384.3345) or email Margaret (mag.platt22@gmail.com).

Admission requires an America the Beautiful/National Parks pass, or paid admission at the Entrance Station to Gulf Islands National Seashore. We plan to walk the new boardwalk on the Intracoastal side, and probably visit the former Camp Happy Sands pavilion location also, near the main Johnson Beach pavilions and restrooms.

We will meet at the Johnson Beach parking lot and start our stroll by 9 am.

(If you want to ride share or don’t have a parks pass, please let Ad or Margaret know when you sign up and we’ll see if we can help arrange a ride into the park. )

Pet restrictions are unclear for the Perdido Key unit, and are not allowed on these beaches; so no pets for this location.

Accessibility: The elevated boardwalk is wheelchair accessible and very recently rebuilt. Restrooms are available at Johnson Beach, along with covered pavilions for picnics or cooling down after the stroll.

Creation Care Altar

at St. Christopher's

A small table is set up in front of the altar for all of September. You are invited to bring something meaningful that is nature or water-themed to place on the table, such as a plant, stone, shell, feather, driftwood, photo, or a small art piece—anything that is special to you. You can add your item at any time between services throughout the month. We will will announce a pick up date if you wish to take your items back home.
