Cooper City Founder's Day T-Shirt Design Contest

Get your creative juices flowing and help create the best Founder’s Day t-shirt to date!

Cooper City’s Parks & Recreation Department is accepting drawings/digital creations from all Cooper City residents through Wednesday, February 7. If you think you can create a t-shirt design that fits this year's “Wild Wild West Fest” theme, then put your artistic talent to work and submit your design! You can choose to do abstract lettering with an abstract design, or create an original image that brings this year's theme to life!

Cooper City Academic Scholarship Opportunity
The City of Cooper City and Waste Management established the Cooper City Academic Scholarship Program to foster the educational opportunities for Cooper City students. 

Through this program, four college-bound students will each receive a one-time scholarship of $1,250.

Senior Lifestyle Expo
This Saturday, February 3, at Cooper City High School
The City of Cooper City is ready to host its annual Senior Lifestyle Expo which highlights services and programs geared to support our area seniors, while also providing valuable information on resources and products. 

Admission is free with complimentary refreshments and light snacks provided to attendees. Raffles will be held throughout the event.

Glow in the Dark Pickleball
Registration Now Open to All
When the sun goes down on February 15, the pickleball courts at Suellen H. Fardelmann Sports Complex are transforming for a glow in the dark pickleball party. Registration is now open for Cooper City residents and non-residents. Don't delay, space is running out!

Flamingo Park - Dog Park Grand Opening
Saturday, March 2

The grand opening and ribbon cutting for our new dog park, currently being constructed at Flamingo Park, will take place on Saturday, March 2, from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

Cooper City's 65th Annual Founder's Day
"Wild Wild West Fest"
Saturday, March 9, 2024
Make your plans to celebrate 65 years of "Someplace Special" with us on Saturday, March 9. A full day of activities are in store for Founder's Day, starting at 8:30 AM.

Guests of all ages can enjoy the "Wild Wild West Fest" parade, food from a variety of vendors, a concert in the park featuring "The Voice" star Orlando Mendez, a fireworks show, and so much more!

Spring Break Camp
Registration Now Open for Cooper City Residents

We are proud to offer Spring Break Camp! Camp will be filled with a variety of recreational activities including a field trip, arts and crafts, onsite activity, and much more!

Registration is now open for Cooper City residents. Registration opens to non-residents on February 14.

Spring Break Camp will take place Friday, March 22, through Friday, March 29. Camp hours 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

An English Expedition

Our Active Adults took a trip across the pond without ever leaving Someplace Special. Attendees of our latest Travel Club, enjoyed the food, music, and sights of England.

The Cooper City Fitness Center is located at the Pool and Tennis Center. Explore your health insurance for membership benefits. An individual annual gym membership starts at only $85.60 for seniors (age 62+). An individual annual membership for Cooper City residents, age 14-61, is $139.10.

At Your Service
During the City Commission Regular Meeting on January 9, the Commission approved a new franchise agreement with Coastal Waste & Recycling of Florida, Inc. for residential and commercial solid waste and recycling hauling services. Additionally, the Commission approved a new franchise agreement with Eastern Waste Systems, Inc. for bulk waste/trash and bulk yard waste collection service. These agreements become effective April 1, 2024.

Specifically, the submitted price for residential solid waste and recycling service brings a 21% cost savings compared to the current collector's residential cost. Along with the cost savings, the new agreements promise to maintain the same level of service residents and businesses are accustomed to.

Field Closures Coming to an End
The Public Works Department is nearly complete with all routine maintenance on multiple fields at Suellen H. Fardelmann Sports Complex.

Baseball Field 5 will reopen on the evening of Monday, February 5.

Grant Opportunity for Cooper City HOAs and Nonprofits
The S.T.A.R.S. program (Safer Through Active Real-Time Strategies) directly connects your security cameras to the Cooper City Real Time Crime Center.

Through the City of Cooper City, there is now a grant program to help Homeowners Associations and nonprofit entities partner with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Cooper City District and protect your community!

This innovative Public-Private Partnership allows the BSO Cooper City District Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) access to live video to help stop crime and catch criminals.
Fingerprinting Services

Our BSO Cooper City District is now offering free fingerprinting services to Cooper City residents and business owners, with proof of residency or business required. Those wishing to have fingerprinting done at the BSO Cooper City Station must bring their own fingerprint card.

Fingerprinting is available by appointment only on Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to noon and Thursdays from noon to 3 p.m.

NEW Utility Billing Customer Service Window Hours

The Utility Billing Customer Service cashier window is now accepting payments from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Remember, you can view your bill and pay your bill online. You also have the option of signing up for automatic payments.

In the event a Cooper City resident calls 911 and there is no answer, Cooper City residents can call the BSO Cooper City station directly by dialing 954-435-2000. Cooper City's BSO station is the only BSO district to staff a lobby 24/7, 365 days a year.

SCAM ALERT - DO NOT OPEN OR SHARE YOUR INFORMATION
There have been reports of fraudulent text messages being sent to Floridians asking for driver license details. The text messages lead to a phony/fraudulent webpage that requests Social Security and driver license information. DO NOT share your personal information.

Cooper City Explorer Program

Our Cooper City BSO District is looking for teenagers interested in a career in law enforcement or criminal justice. If your child in considering a career in public safety, this program may be the perfect fit.

BSO Cares Program, Registry for People with Developmental Disorders

This registry is part of a free community service program that will allow our emergency personnel to respond to and serve our community with disabilities better when our help is needed. Participation is voluntary. To register for Care Program
Park Instructor/ Trainer Policy

All instructors/ trainers who wish to instruct/ train clients in the City of Cooper City outdoor parks and/or facilities must meet the requirements outlined in the Park Instructor/ Trainer Policy and complete a Park Instructor/ Trainer Permit Application.
