On Friday, June 19th, we celebrate Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of opportunity for all.
As we reflect on this important chapter in our nation's history, we honor the contributions, achievements, and enduring spirit of generations of African Americans who have helped shape our communities and our country. In doing so, we reflect on the past, recognize the progress that has been made, and reaffirm a commitment to building a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Happy Father's Day to all of the dads, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures who make a difference in the lives of their families each and every day.
This past weekend, Cooper City families celebrated the occasion at our annual Father's Day Fishing Derby at the Pool and Tennis Center. Dads and kids started the morning with breakfast before finding their favorite fishing spots around the lake. The fish were biting, memories were being made, and plenty of smiles were shared throughout the day.
| |
After a successful morning on the water, dads and kids gathered together for a cookout lunch featuring burgers, hot dogs, sausages, and more. Participants were also recognized for their biggest catches, most fish caught, and several raffle prizes.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating the special bonds between fathers and their children. We hope all of our Cooper City dads enjoy a wonderful Father's Day!

| | A Message from the Public Safety Advisory Board | | E- Bike and E-Scooter Safety | |
Don't Bike Like Mike!
We've all seen it. E-bikes and e-scooters weaving through pedestrians, ignoring traffic rules, and riding recklessly. While it might seem harmless, unsafe e-bike and e-scooter behavior puts everyone at risk and could even lead to your ride being impounded.
In this video, Mike shows us exactly what NOT to do. Then, we'll show you the right way to Ride Smart. Ride Safe.
Whether you're riding to school, visiting friends, or exploring Someplace Special, a few simple choices can help keep you and those around you safe.
- Slow down on sidewalks
- Yield to pedestrians
- Stop at cross streets
- Stay alert and ride responsibly
Watch the video and help us spread the word: Ride Smart. Ride Safe.
