Commission Meeting Recap

The City Commission set a tentative operating millage rate of 5.845 during the Regular Meeting on Tuesday, July 22nd.

It was the first step in maintaining a millage rate reduction trend that sees Cooper City's millage rate at its lowest point since 2011.

Crafting with the Commissioners

Tuesday, August 5 at 6:30 PM

Community Center

Get your creative juices going and make fun crafts with members of the City Commission. This is an opportunity to have family fun while engaging with your elected officials and discussing topics that are important to you.

The event is for Cooper City residents and open to all ages. There is a $5 fee to participate.

City Commission Recognitions

Our City Commission recognized Adam Bouban. At just 10 years of age, Adam graduated from Cooper City Elementary School having already completed 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math. He will start the next school year at Pioneer Middle School, taking on 9th grade math. Adam has also earned straight A's throughout his academic journey and served as Student Government President. Congratulations, Adam!

The City Commission took time to recognize July 2025 as Parks and Recreation Month in Cooper City. Staff members were on hand for the reading of a proclamation, highlighting the vital contributions of employees and volunteers who help provide activities, programs, and special events that enrich our community and improve residents' quality of life. We thank our Parks and Recreation team for their dedication!

Before and Aftercare Programs

Another Reminder that Registration is Open

Our Parks and Recreation Department offers Before and Aftercare Programs for elementary and Pioneer Middle School students. The programs will consist of recreation activities, homework assistance, and more! The programs will operate on school days, Monday through Friday, and will only be available on Broward County School days.

Cooper City and Cooper City Optimist Team Up to Provide Online Registration, Starting with Softball

The City of Cooper City and Cooper City Optimist have teamed up to provide online registration for Optimist programs, starting with Softball, by visiting www.CooperCity.gov/Register.

Please watch our tutorial video to get instructions on how to find available programs and register. If you don't have an existing account, we go through the steps to set one up. And, if you are a Cooper City resident, we provide instructions on how to make sure you verify your residency to take advantage of the Optimist's resident rates.

Active Adults Corner

Explore a diverse range of activities, classes, and programs tailored just for active adults! Please note, some programs have recently changed.

Summer programs include Rummikub at the Community Center on Tuesdays at 12 PM and Social Pinochle every Tuesday and Thursday at the Community Center from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

Holidays in July Ceramics Class

July 28th 10 AM - 12 PM at the Community Center

Looking for a unique idea for the holidays? Come create your own personalized gift with ceramics. Pricing ranges between $5 to $55 per piece (subject to change, based on availability).

Fee per participant: $7 for Cooper City residents/$9 for non-residents. The fee covers instruction, paint/glazing materials, and firing.

Mind and Melody Music

Humana Series: Harmonicas for Health | Community Center | 9000 SW 50th Place | Mondays, August 18 - September 15 | 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Harmonicas for Health will help participants learn how to play the harmonica, which can help improve lung function.

The program will meet each week for two hours for interactive sessions. In this program, participants may:

Learn how to have better control of their breathing.
Exercise the muscles that help them breathe.
Strengthen abdominal muscles for a more effective cough.
Boost self-confidence and relieve stress.
Socialize with others, have fun, and build relationships.

The Cooper City Fitness Center is located at 11600 Stonebridge Parkway within the Rock Creek community. An individual annual gym membership starts at only $85.60 for seniors (age 62+). An individual annual membership for Cooper City residents, age 15-61, is $139.10.

Vacation Home Watch Program

Did you know the Broward Sheriff's Office Cooper City District has a free Home Watch Program?

With this program, a deputy will check your home regularly while you are away. An exterior check of your home will be conducted to make sure there have been no unlawful entries and that no other obvious problems have occurred outside of your home. To sign up for this FREE service, please sign up online.

My Safe Florida Home

The My Safe Florida Home Program offers eligible home owners the opportunity to make an application for a wind mitigation home inspection free of charge by the State.

Fingerprinting Services

The BSO Cooper City District is now providing complimentary fingerprinting services to Cooper City residents and business owners. Fingerprinting is available by appointment only on Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to noon and Thursdays from noon to 3 p.m.

What to Do If 911 Does Not Answer:

If a Cooper City resident calls 911 and receives no answer, there's no need to panic. You can call the BSO Cooper City station directly at 954-435-2000. It's worth noting that Cooper City's BSO station is the only BSO district to have a staffed lobby 24/7, 365 days a year.
